Horror Schmoe Trivia Bowl Prep. Thread~!

yep.. you read it right.. I figured I'd post a prep thread on gen before I rush in and start the actual thing.. Here, we're going to figure out who the reallll king of horror schmoes is.. This'll be a mono-a-mono trivia game..

here goes.. elimination matches based upon a point system. Trivia questions ranging from quote identification, to date recalling.. Anything goes.

This is my idea, so I'll volunteer to act as quizmaster for this puppy..

okay, we've got nearly TWENTY so far. .. not bad, not bad..
I've got the questions pretty well worked out, so I figure I'll close the polls in a short while..

The first round consist of a quicky elimination.. Meaning the questions will be simple and the first one to answer will get the points.

I dont know anything about computers, but I figure if we post that kind of a thing on a normal board, it may lead to a little inaccuracy with the timing and such. So, if its alright with you, I'm gonna trial run the first round in the joblo :)Chat Room (http://www.joblo.com/chat.htm) to see how things'll work out..

I'm going to draw pairs out of a hat, to keep things evened out..

that's a tough'un.. there should be enough people so that if one of a pair isin't present that we can skip depending on who's online at the time.. I will, however, pick a date in which the participants will be asked to get on the boards..

I wont eliminate anyone if they're not around.. that'd be plain ol' mean.

wooo...! This thread is closing later tonight.

nearly twenty people is a niiiice turnout, but unfourtunately we have an UNEVEN number of competitors... sooo, anyone interested has to GET THEIR BUTS IN HERE, so we can flex our dorky, horror muscles..


Elimination Round will be a one on one deal, where the first person to five points wins.. In this round, questions range from 1 to 3 points..

In the first round, you have one Life and a Face.. meaning that losers and winners get RE-paired before the semi finals to appeal their position. NOTE! The questions in this round are going to be a SINCH.. this is purely a reflex kinda dealy..


Hopefully, this'll be a bit of fun.. the first round should only take a few seconds for each match, to things'll move pretty quickly..

Yeah, participating in the trivial bowl has been fun thus far, although I did embarrass myself a couple of times. R&J, you may see me online in the morning, but I won't be able to join the party until after 3:00 p.m. ET. And that goes for all weekdays. Weekends are a little more flexible.

I haven't had any trouble, but the room does strange things sometimes.. Its either haunted, or there were ten people who were already chatting in the room.. Unfourtunately, thats the maximum amount of people that can hold. :)

Speaking of King Hippo...I used to always feel bad for beating him. I don't know why. He just seemed like a real lonely person with nothing but his boxing. I always felt like he would leave after his match, go to his locker room, and slit his wrists in the shower because he lost to a little twerp. Sometimes I'd just let him win so I didn't have someone's suicide hanging over my head ;)
