I figured this was the only place I could go to be heard.
I just ripped open my new Superman DVD from Warner. Almost a year had gone by since I heard
rumors here and there about this phenomenal edition of Superman The Movie. Originally intending a
pre theatrical release and then to follow was supposed to be this great jam packed DVD.
I though great! They are finally taking their time to release a FIGHT CLUB type of disc! NOT!!!
Number one-first and foremost, the packaging SUCKS! Who designed this crap? There's tons of
unnecessary text all over the back. I don't give two shits about Ebert's review. This is the kind of film
that doesn't need a review.
Two, when is ignorant Warner going to realize all of us DVD buyers hate those cardboard snapper
cases. They scratch & wear easy, and when it comes to appearance it fails miserably. And what's with
all these damn warning stickers splattered all over the box? I nicked this cheap cardboard just trying
to get it off!
Come on Warner, you are making millions off of us! Give us some good packaging!
Three, what's with the two sided discs? Personally I'd rather have a nicely done artistic one sided disc
movie and the same for a supplemental disc. How about a nice two disc set with a mirrored like
appearance?
Let me ask the general public something. Have you seen the newly remastered SUPERMAN
soundtrack? I would have taken anything close to this packaging. A nice hologram looking cover.
Nice Superman logos on each disc. A very large book which barley fits in the sleeve...it's freaking
phenomenal!
The only good thing I have to say about this movie is it was good before Warner even touched it.
It's naturally an epic film without Warner raping the outward appearances of it.
When it comes to Warner & New Line, they always provide good extras, but let's face it folks...the
packaging is always guaranteed to suck.
I am normally not a very critical person, but when it came to this movie, I had to speak.
As for me, I am on my way to Buy.com to cancel my order for the box set.
Comments from other DVD connoisseurs appreciated.
