Spoiler Warning

One of the best sequels to Halloween. This is my third time watching this film. Last time I saw this was 3 years ago and guess what? I still get scared with some scenes. I would have given this movie a 10 if they had left out the Thorn story. A classic photo shot is with Michael holding the axe and swinging at Debra Strode. I love how Michael swings that axe :)...just like a true professional (does it better than Jason, imo). I never get bored of that scene I must have watched it over and over like 10 times. But, I would have liked to see a decapitated head of Debra after that swing . I also liked the part when Michael comes into the bedroom and stabs the nude woman in the back over and over like a true psycho killer. But, too bad it wasn't more up close I would have watched it more like the other scene. Michael is the real deal stalker/serial killer. No other horror killer can even come close to Michael...except for Jason, but even he has to learn how to stalk his victims like Mike; with a lot of patience.

Rating 9/10 Note: The film is scary especially the first half. The atmosphere is very dark and creepy. Better than H20 and Resurrection. The mask was pretty damn good! Too bad they didn't show Michael kill Dr. Loomis at the end. They didn't need to cut that out. But I still feel sad that Donald died soon after.

It's a pretty good film. I liked how they explained more about Michael. However, I wish they would've used the classic Halloween theme more often throughout the movie. I mean it's only used like once. Also it's a shame the Donald Pleasance died during H6. His death really effected the film.

I will post a full review later but I will say this; Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers is a very underrated film. It's gory, tense, and scary fun.

By the way, Debra wasn't decapitated, her body is seen later with an axe in her chest and the head is still attached. I thought she was beheaded too the first time I watched it. But, I think this movie has enough gore to please us all despite the fact that that one particular sequence was off-screen.

I love how the censors didn't cut any gore from this flick. Had that sequence been shown, it would have been cool but nothing had to be cut from it.

The tunnel scene in the beginning is badass as well.I agree that this film is very underrated.

I don't understand why they used a different score for the theatrical release than the producer's cut which is better then the theatrical release.

I understand they had to change a bunch of scenes because of Donald Pleasance, but not the score of the film.

And why didn't the idiots at dimension films include it with the DVD of Halloween 6 probably from the same idea as Paramount thinking we will pay $25 for the theatrical trailer of the Friday The 13th DVDs.

The theatrical release is underated I'll agree with that and better than parts 5, and 8

I liked Michael's "curse" as well. So many people make a big deal out it, but this movie is really as simple as the rest of the entries. I liked how they backed up Michael's demonic evil with the thorn symbol. It made perfect sense, to me anyway, and I'm surprised many others didn't understand it.

I guess what them tick is that they had the whole cult thing with robed figures, but Dr. Wynn was a messed up dude, and he figured out that Michael was born with the thorn symbol when he was first taken to the sanitarium, and he was the person that helped him escape. He was also the person who taught him how to drive. They just did the whole robe thing, because they did represent the druids, and were, after all, messed up.

The movie also makes up for Michael's "Revenge," which is arguably the worst regarded "Halloween" film.

I just wish that Dimension Video, Moustapha Akkad, or whoever's responsible, would finally refer to this film when they had to in H20 (when Laurie spilled her guts to the counselor, she should have mentioned that she had a daughter that Michael killed) and Resurrection (yeah, sure, "nobody" has lived in the Myer's house since Michael first killed). They thought that they would confuse or distraght the fans by refering to it, but they've only confused and distraught the fans by not refering to it. Because of this, they've divided the storyline and the fans.

I forgot this movie...but I remember Dr. Loomis screaming towards end...does he die in the movie?

***Spoilers***

Yes, Loomis dies at the end. He died during the shoot so they decided to give the character a death as well. Sort of sounds sadistic but they had good intentions. Loomis will forever be remembered in the history of horror.

I always thought that since Loomis is the closest person that Michael knows, I figured he took off his mask and was torturing Michael. I thought the screams were coming from Michael himself.

well, i did like it. The story was good, except I didnt like the Thorn stroyline. Everything else, I liked. It felt great having Donald Pleasance giving his final role. And the ending "In Loving Memory of Donald Pleasence" always gets me sad.

Warning Spoilers

If you ever get the oportunity to watch the producer's cut version of the film Dr. Loomis' scream was after he pulls the mask off Michael and finds Dr. Wynn and says "it's your game now" Dr. Loomis looks on his arm and sees the thorn symbol and lets out the scream you hear at the end of the film

I think this movie is pretty underrated. Sure it ain't the best of the series but its many times better than H20 or the ultra shitty Resurrection. Mikey's got some good violent kills and I don't mind the Thorn storyline either. This is the final film before they sold Myers out. After his two moments with Busta I just think of Myers as a bitch. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I liked this movie, but found it disturbing that in the producer's cut, the baby is Michael's own....I'm afraid to see the producer's cut now, cus the baby's mother is Mikey's niece....He's a father and a great uncle all at once....Well, he kept the killing in the family, why not just keep EVERYTHING in the family....

I'm glad to see that other Schmoes like this one...it's sort of like a guilty pleasure of mine, I don't like to admit how much I like it.

I personally loved the style and music. I would NOT have the music from the producers cut in my dream cut of the film: instead i would have the extra scenes of dialogue between Loomis and Wynn, the ending, and a few other scenes, but I would keep the whacked out style of the theatrical cut.

I think the awesome movie is somewhere inbetween the two cuts.

I thought this one was one of the best of the series. It makes a bland plot with very few innovations but it is fun and visually pleasing to boot!

if there wasnt the thorn symbol excuse, the horrible score(the electric guitar music sucked), and a bunch of characters that are hard to keep up with then this would be a great movie. i liked the general direction and style that the movie was shot in but there were alot of flaws. i hated the ending. spoiler-bashing his head with a pipe killed him end spoiler.
