Is this the new movie that was just released?
If you're talking about Scarecrows from the 80's, you have to rent it. It's such an underrated and unheard little gem.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS
As Far as I am concerned, low budget movies are the uber rentals. there is nothing more fun thean renting some horrid piece of trash and making fun of it until the movie itself seems to turn into a puddle of crap in my VCR... I was ready to see scarecrow be a bad movie that had next to no merits, I was ready to not even enjoy it, but scarecrow ended up surprising me.
To tell you how it starts, the movie uses the not so old legend motif and the beginning introduces a few characters that are exchanging inane dialogue to one another with inept grade talent. they soon get into the story of a boy whose life is preverbial shit, he has a rough time with bitching teachers, a whore of a mom, school bullying, and of course his crush never really notices he is alive... yeah the flick sounds pretty yawning but the flick actually does very well with displaying the emotion of the moment, the music and the directing does a good job of making this flick look a fell like this story is happening right infront of your face. I did dig this part of the flick as it felt like a good build up to a great movie that wouldn't pull any punches...
Sadly, once the Scarecrow himself hits the screen the movie goes for a definate cheesey vibe with lots of Freddy-ish one liners and ludicrus death sequences (which I dug a lot). At this time, the film becomes entertaining and fun for the wrong reasons, it exploits the usual gore and cliche' elements of your average slasher. Scarecrow does pull it off though, I cannot say I was not entertained by this palate of B-movie buffet. the fact is that the second half of the film is extremely funny, stuff like kung fu scarecrows and corn cobs for weapons just hit my funny bone.
To say that Scarecrow is for everyone is incorrect, but if you dig B-movies and like som cheese in your life than Scarecrow should not disappoint.
I will say that the ending was a letdown, the film had lots of "cool" elements but the finale is a let down and ends with a rather groaning note... but the film is still decent fare.

Great review, I really want to see it. I heard it's very gory, is there enough to satisfy my bloodlust?
