I loved it and found it quite creepy. It had some nice bloody moments (nothing too over-the-top considering this was made for TV) and the story was very well thought out.

It reminded me of The Shining (TV version) which I enjoyed but I think this actually proves to be better than that long film. Rose Red is long itself but has much to admire. The DVD set is great too.

It's about a group of people who are chosen to explore this particular house to find out if it is indeed haunted. Numerous sightings claim that it is but most of the crew are skeptics until they begin to experience the impossible.

ROSE RED and STORM OF THE CENTURY are two of my favourite Stephen King movies. I think they are better than most of the adaptations because they were written specifically for TV.

I also read the crappy tie-in 'diary' THE DIARY OF ELLEN RIMBAUER and it increased my enjoyment of the movie.

While the Stand may be my favorite King novel, I think that it was my least favorite movie adaptation. I think it might have been b/c I was so pissed they gave Flagg a fucking mullet:mad:

*****spoilers for Dreamcatcher***************************

Dreamcatchers about these group of friends who do something very brave and because of it, receive some special gifts that allow them to know what people are thinking and where they are.

Its also about an alien invasion.

**************spoiler over*****************************

Movies is OK but couldve been better. They jammed too many plots into one movie, wich might have worked for the book but not for a movie thats only an hour and a half to two hours long.

I just hate it when they start to rush the story line and cram it all into five seconds at the end.

But its got some excellent alien fx, a nice local, and like in most King movies likable characters.

Oh man don't even get me started on "The Stand" I've seen that movie like a 100 times that movie is soo phenomenal!!! The beggining really scared me though, the threat of the end of the world always scares me, not of dying but of being one of few survivors. Oh!!! I got a good King adaptation!!! THE LANGOLIERS!!!! Oh man that movie was spectacular!!! Just kidding.... OH man was that movie a big let down, it was like "The Stand" but with giant killer Meatballs.

One more thing, remember how Parker Lewis was in "The Stand" as the jeolous psychopath boyfriend!? Oh Parker Lewis, he can't lose. LOL!

It's about a group of childhood friends (Jonesy, Henry, Beaver and Pete) who meet a mentally challenged young boy who is being threatened by some older punks. They save the poor boy and develop a bond with him. The bond isn't only friendship though, it's also psychic. The young boys name is Douglas (he pronouces it Duddits, which is what all of his friends call him).

In the present day, all the men are grown up and haven't seen Duddits in a long time. The yearly hunting trip to "The Hole in the Wall" (a small cabin up in the woods) turns horrific when Jonesy almost shoots a man that he mistakes for a deer. Jonesy was recently in a car accident that almost cost him his life. Beaver tried to warn him of something that was going to happen but he didn't know what "it" was. So, Jonesy is on crutches and walks slowly up to the man who he almost shot.

The man tells him and Beaver (Pete and Henry are out buying beer and other supplies) that he was out in the wild hunting when he got lost from his wife. The man has red fungus on his face and looks terrible. Jonesy and Beaver make him some food when the man begins to fart and burp uncontrolably.

This is just the beginning of the story. If you would like to know more, just ask, I'd be happy to tell.

I haven't seen Rose Red but I own Storm of the century. I watched it again recently and for some reason didn't care for it as much as I used to. I think they could have shortened it to where the more interesting stuff could have been shown, and not so many gaps. And the teeth thing got a little overdone. By the end of the movie the first time I saw it I kept thinking if they mentioned the quote "Give me what I want and I will go away" one more time I was happily going to shoot myself. :D

It truly is one of a kind, it's extremely gory and very comical at the same time. You'll see many bad reviews but I really think you should watch it on your own and decide for yourself. Would you like me to post my review?
