She's the best british actress working today IMO. From the movies I've seen, all of her performances were amazing. But she really impressed me in Breaking the Waves, I thought she deserved an oscar for that movie. Her work in Gosford Park, Angela's Ashes, Hilary and Jackie, and Red Dragon were impressive as well.

Superb actress. I liked her best in Gosford Park, closely followed by Punch Drunk Love. I'm yet to see Hilary and Jackie though.

My list is just like BCV's except I'm adding Angela's Ashes
1. Breaking the Waves
2. Hilary & Jackie
3. Gosford Park
4. Angela's Ashes
5. Punch-Drunk Love
6. Red Dragon
This woman should have won the Best Actress Oscar twice for the top two films. At least she was nominated, but the people she lost to is a travesty. Gwyneth Paltrow in Shakespeare in Love? Please! Frances McDormand in Fargo? Not as bad as losing to Gwyneth, but still, she should have won for it.

I would have included Angela's Ashes myself, but I just couldn't warm to the actual film. Watson's performance was quite stunning though.
She's certainly a consistent little talent...I've yet to see her put in an "average" performance.

Am I the only one around here who has seen Metroland? It seems hard to believe, what with all the Christian Bale worshippers here. (They are both wonderful in it.)

Though I have heard of it, I have not seen it. In turn, though, I am wondering if I am the only schmoe who has seen the Luzhin Defense? With all of the John Turturro nuts here (deservingly) one would hope I'm not the only one to have seen it.
