1. COP LAND (1997) A
2. IDENTITY (2003) B+
3. KATE & LEOPOLD (2002) B+
4. HEAVY (1995) B

I did NOT like GIRL, INTERRUPTED, despite Angelina Jolie’s blazing, Oscar-winning performance. I’d like to take one of those roasted chickens and shove it up Brittany Murphy’s ass!

Come on QUENTIN, although I know you're no LEOPOLD fan (having previously dissed me for choosing Hugh Jackman as one of my favorite foreign actors), you've got to have a favorite among this underrated director. I have a hunch you'll choose HEAVY for some reason.

1.Cop Land (1997, 9/10), here. Flawless, just flawless. I couldn't find one actor who wasn't on their game. Hell, I think Janeane Garofalo is a God-awful comedian, but I actually saw sincereity in her performance as well.

2.Girl, Interrupted (1999, 8/10)

3.Heavy (1995, 6/10)

Side Note: I'm gonna avoid Kate & Leopold like the plague.

And i'll be seeing Identity later on today so i'll be back to tell you guys how that ranks up compared Cop Land.

1. Girl Interrupted ****
2. Identity ***1/2
3. Copland ***1/2

That's all I've seen. He's too knew to be called a great filmmaker but so far very promising.

Copland, a film that was unjusticely snubbed at some Oscar nods.

Stallone - Best Actor.

Yeah, you heard me, Stallone - Best Actor.

I've only seen two:

Girl, Interrupted - **** or 8/10
Copland - ***˝ or 7/10

Would need to see more to make up my mind on the director, but he does seem rather versatile.

Heavy and Copland would both get 7.5/10, though I think I should re-watch the latter, since it seems to have found a nice following of people who adamently love it, yes Antonio Heavy would be my choice, but I'll hopefully see Identity this weekend and I expect that will take the top spot since it starts out as an 8/10 just for having John Cusack in the cast.

P.S. -Girl, Interrupted and Kate & Leopold sucked.

Edit note: Saw Identity, it kicked mucho ass, 8/10, the best so far of 2003 and Mangold's best to date.

THEREALJOHNG.....Although 1997 had the best list of Lead Actor contenders in recent memory, I chose Stallone as one of my Top Five! He was so subtle and likable! And THAT'S acting, to me! Going against the usual Rocky-Rambo schtick. It was his best performance since the original ROCKY!

Copland although flawed was a solid film which had one of my most enjoyable and memorable scenes of 97:Stallone walking down the New Jersey road with his hearing impaired and with shotgun in hand. It also had a performance from Stallone that outshone both DeNiro and Keitel.

Now, I saw Identity a few hours ago and schmoes...it's truly unlike any psychological horror-thriller i've seen in years. A few days after I saw Dreamcatcher, I saw the Identity TV spot. And I got to thinking...James Mangold, known mostly for pretty good dramas is directing his first film that involves "Strong Violence"...Lawrence Kasdan's latest film just so happened to be his first bad one that involved "Violence and gore"...what if Mangold's latest turns out to be just as bad, if not worse than Dreamcatcher?! He's never made a horror film and this could be a disaster!

But all my worries went away from the first scene to the last. I'm gonna give away as much away as much as Arrow and JoBlo and say this:

-Ray Liotta truly deserves the title, "THE LIOTTA", after seeing his performance. Great stuff, Arrow.

-There's much more to John Cusack than his regular kooky performances.

-As well as John McGinley.

-I'm almost positive that the next piece of flesh Amanda Peet will put on display is her ass.

And that's about it. 9/10 here for Identity. Which leaves Cop Land and Identity at a tie for the best film of James Mangold.

CAUSE I'M THE KING OF MY WORLD...

1.) Identity (8.5)
2.) Copland (7.5)
3.) Girl, Interrupted (6)

Identity is the best I've seen of Mangold, thus far. Great fucking movie! Can't wait to see what he has to offer next.
