This is really hard thing to decide on. But if I were to pick one. It would probably be the lobby scene in The Matrix.

For realism - D-day in Saving Private Ryan
For sheer eye candy - Motorcycle chase in Mission Impossible: 2
For "oh my god" factor - opening scene in Final Destination 2
Best action sequence to see on the biggest screen possible - Pearl Harbor attack.

I agree with this pick, but the teahouse shooout that opens the film is also a contendor.

This is THEE greatest shootout hands down. Another favorite of mine would be pretty much the entire battle in BHD or SPR. Both classic war pics.
