Any big fans of sports talk radio out there?
Personally, I don't like most newer music today so I spend a good chunk of my time in the car listening to it. I try to listen to Jim Rome for at least a few minutes every day. I don't really like him too much, but he does good interviews and the clones (his devoted fans) emails and calls often crack me up. Jim occasionally has a good line every now and then. I'm curious about his new show coming up on ESPN next week.
We have a local show out of Detroit I love called Stoney and Wojo. They are a couple local sports writers and the show is hilarious. Its not always just about sports. THey have hysterical little bits every now and then, plus they do get a lot of more national personalities on the show.

I used to listen to Rome fairly faithfully, but he wore pretty thin. I've pretty much given up listening to sports talk. You can only fill so much airtime without getting boring.
Rome was great until he went syndicated. Now his head's even bigger than it was.

If I had a good a.m. radio I would probably listen to alot of sports talk radio, but living out here in the middle of nowhere the choices are kind of limited on what you can pick up.
On trips to Minneapolis or heading north of here I sometimes like to find crusty old Sid Hartman and listen to him piss and moan about the state of the Vikings, how the Twins need a new stadium, and things in general. I've never been a fan of Jim Rome, especially now after the complete 180 he did about the Hawkeye football team last fall. He was a supporter of them until Kirk Ferentz refused to be on his show and then he changed his tune and went with Ohio State, come on grow up! I still remember the incident years ago when Jim Everett wanted to kick his ass on his show, shoulda done it Jimmy!:D
I try to catch the Alford and Ferentz call in show's when I can, it's fun to listen to some of the more ignorant fans.

I am a HUGE fan of sports radio but only my local station. I cant stand the typical ESPN or The Sporting News radio syndication. I am VERY luck to have 3 shows on WEEI that are high class, care about the games, radio...I drive alot for my job and I have them on about 95 percent of the time. Of course Howard Stern cuts in during the AM drive but I just switch back when he has his 25 min commercial break! :)

I caught a little CBS Sports talk radio tonight while at work. I was actually trying to get the Monday Night game, but ended up with that instead. I can't make a habit of this though, because I found myself standing there listening instead of doing anything. I like to get done as soon as I can and go home so I'm going to have to avoid this in the future.:D Well maybe on weekends.
Just a little bumpity bump for any sports talk radio fans.

I listen to it all the time! Out here I listen to KNBR 680AM...the flagship of the San Francisco Giants...in the morning they have the John London Not Just Sports Show5:30AM to 9:30AM...like a morning show but sports obviously is not the only topic...I listen to it each morning on my way to work and while I'm at work....after that comes Gary Radnich 9:30AM to Noon, sports anchor for local TV station who I don't particularly like. After that we have Rick Barry former basketball great from Noon to 3:00PM...3:00PM to 7:00PM we have The Razor and Mr. T.(Ralph Barbieri and Tom Tolbert) probably my favorite show on the station....yes its the same Tom Tolbert you here on ABC and ESPN basketball...former player as well...just a good, funny guy, who has a fan's perspective. 7:00PM to 10:00PM we get Larry Kruger, local guy who I enjoy especially when I used to work nights...he's usually cut short by Giants and Warrior games...also the Warriors radio station. 10:00PM to 3:00PM we have ESPN syndication of Todd Wright's late night show...this guy is really good I love his show and used to listen to it alot when I worked nights.

I listen all the time. Here in Charlotte, we have 2 local shows and ESPN radio sandwiched in between. I couoldn't live without it. Truthfully, at least here, there is as much talk on regular music stations as there is on talk radio...it's really bad (the music stations that is).

Pretty much all day long I'm listening to The Score here in Chicago. Although lately, as some of the hosts on during the morning and early part of the afternoon annoy me, I've been switching over to ESPN and listening to Dan Patrick.
I can handle Rome in short doses... but not for long periods.
