There are some damn good movies out there, but they have crappy DVDs! Take the Shawshank Redemption. It is one of the best movies out there, Number 2 on IMDB, and the DVD has a trailer and some production stills. THAT'S IT! I hope they rerelease the DVD in 2004(10th Anniversary) and give it some better treatment. Like a commentary with the director and Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. Deleted scenes, Making of featurettes, anything!

One more movie to point out is the Truman Show. That was good, and the only special features are a trailer.

What movies do you know that deserve better treatment?

Annie Hall is a great movie with a really bad DVD. The grain is incredible, and the DVD has NO special features...

why do the greatest movies get squat with special fetures for dvds!!!!!!¿!

IT COULD BE WORSE, a sh^ty movie can be glorified on dvd, take 1941 for example.......yikes!

We're seeing Clockers in my film class. It's a good movie, but the picture was terrible. Anyone else have this problem?

Touch of Evil, which had a great transfer, but NOTHING at all on it.

A Clockwork Orange, with ANYTHING on it please.

Pulp Fiction, even though Tarantino is a lazy bitch who would never record a commentary.

Man With No Name Trilogy which only had the trailer, and a few deleted scenes. Annoying.

Usual Suspects with a better transfer would be good.

Color of Money with a commentary from anyone would be nice as well.

American Beauty- I was bummed when they didn't add the personally anticipated deleted scenes and alternate ending.

Requiem for a Dream- stunning movie but a piece of crap for the edited dvd menus and navigation.

The Ice Storm- though it's a little older, I still wish there were some better extras than just a featurette.

Hamlet (I-2000)- i thought it was a good rendition but a crappy dvd with minimal extras.

Continuing what somebody said about Annie Hall, it looks like every Woody Allen film is lacking any bonus material except a trailer. Is Mr. Allen's film company not hep to what neat things can be done with DVD, or does Woody just not want to add anything to these classic films?

'course, considering that his last campus tour was spent telling his audiences that he's "never made anything resembling a great movie," maybe he'd just as soon see his filmography sent to the incinerator.

As far as picture or sound quality goes the movie Highlander is atrocious.
When it comes to having features or lack of:
Private Parts
Pulp Fiction
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
Maverick
Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie
Johnny Mnemonic
Event Horizon

The main studio who seems to have to get their act together is Paramount. Generally one is lucky to have a trailer on a Paramount DVD with few exceptions.
