Anyone else like AFI?

I just heard their new song "Girls not grey" and it quite rules the fuggin world. It's awesome. And they are awesome

AFI had always been one of those bands that I've heard lots of praise for, but never actually heard any of their music. When the new album came out, people whispered "sell out" but all in all it recieved rave reviews so I picked it up ($9.99! fucking bargain!).

All in all, very good album. Kinda dark though. Don't expect it all to sound like Girls Not Grey ( I think that song was written solely as a radio friendly track).

Back in the day when I was into the whole punk thing (about 6 months ago...heh) I ws really into AFI's first CD as A Fire Inside called Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes. Also I still think the Black Sails in the Dunset was a really strong record and Davey Havok's side project with the guys from Samhain and Danzig called Son of Sam had a lot of potential.

I loathe AFI. Mainly because of their damn vocalist. Like fingernails on a chalkboard, a high pitched Glen Danzig gone bad.

I own an AFI shirt for some reason, don't really know why, I'm not that big a fan. "The art of drowning" is not bad. I'd rather see them do the Misfits thing that they've made themselves a name for, but clearly they are no longer interested in being a clone band.

I've been a huge fan of A.F.I. since I first saw them open for The Offspring in Northern Cali in 1997. I can't wait for Warped Tour. I'll get to see A.F.I. for a second time this year. Bringing my total up to 9 times I've seen them live, and they NEVER let me down. They put on a killer show.

I really like AFI. Their music has changed A LOT since they started, but I enjoy all their cds, from the hardcore snotty punk to the darker, goth rock kinda thing they have going on now. Anybody else find it wierd how much even Havok's voice has changed?

i like their older stuff AND the new stuff. they're just great.
