I'm just wondering if anyone else on the board listens to stuff liek this. Some bands that are at least somewhat industrial are Nine Inch Nails, Orgy, KMFDM, VNV Nation (maybe), Rammstien, that sort of thing

the coolest industrial band that I've ever heard are from Germany and they have a very wierd name that I couldn't even BEGIN to try and spell..
Einstruzende(?..) Neubauten
the name came from a term meaning the buildings built after the war in Germany.. roughly translated, the band's name is "Tear Down The New Buildings."
Either way, its verrry creepy shit.. check it out!

Hey, dont mention it.. hopefully 'Neubauten' will get you somewhere on Kazaa.. if I could remember any of the songs names, I'd give you an idea of where to start..
When, if, you find it, my favorite song \opens with some verry cool guitar harmonics.. the words "she's gonna see the light" are repeated with their trademark (BIZARRRRRO) choir-esque vocals..Its cool stuff.

I love NIN, and this may sound like a cliche', but especially the song CLOSER. Amazing song in all aspects.

I don't listen to much industrial, but I have to second the recommendation for Einsturzende Neubauten. Awesome band. Just to warn you though, later albums like 'Silence Is Sexy' , while still really cool, is a much more subdued and quiet sound and you will not get what you are expecting when you think of industrial. Try to find some of their older stuff. BTW: Blixa Bargeld (sp?) who is a member of Nick Cave's band and also I think has done some voice overs for screaming monsters in movies (like the Mummy) is in this band.
Skinny Puppy was another awesome industrial band.

Industrial is the only way to go! There are thousand of great bands like Suicide Commando, Velvet Acid Christ, Hocico, Evil's Toy, Android Lust, Assemblage 23, Hate Dept. and so on and so on. Its the only kind of music I can stand to listen to next to punk and gothic!

Industrial is my second favorite genre of music, next to metal.
NIN, Ministry, KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, and wumpscut all kick ass.
PS: Digital Hardcore is also pretty cool. Atari Teenage Riot is sweet.

I heard that the lead singer for Atari Teenage Riot died and Hanin Elias has her own solo cd out now. I think its called No Games No Fun. From what I hear its really good.

I was a huge NIN fan back in the day.
Prick was a band that put out one great album, but then I never heard from them again

I saw Prick live with Lords Of Acid and Thrill Kill Kult. Man they were great. Their newest cd is called The Wreckard. Its pretty good, you should check it out. They still have that same sound after all these years.

Yes, Carl Crack, the MC of ATR died of a drug overdose. Hanin Elias has put out two solo albums: 2000's In Flames and 2003's No Games No Fun, I have yet to hear either album. Alec Empire, the groups leader has also put out a few solo albums that were just as, if not more successful than the ATR albums.

I have to say that I'm not a big fan of Atari Teenage Riot. I bought a CD only knowing "If the Kids Are United" and the whole disk just sounded like alot of noise. Front 242 is one of my favorites and I do like NIN (no matter what Trent Reznor says about Bill Leeb). I've gotten bashed before for saying this but I can't get into Skinny Puppy at all. I guess it's just too primitive. But I do like soem of Leeb's other bands (namely Delerium and Frontline Assembly.

Does anybody like the Ministry side projects like Revolting Cocks, 1000 Homo Djs, PTP, Acid Horse, or Pailhead? What about the industrial supergroup Pigface? Pigface is the greatest!

Yes. I have all of the above. Don't forget about "Lard" with Jello Biafra.

See for some reason, I never liked Lard. I think it was to "thrash" for me, Kinda like the past 3 Ministry cds. Now I like Jello Biafra and The Dead Kennedys but thats another story. What about Buck Satan And The 666 Shooters? Did that ever even happen?

Supposedly they played some acoustic live shows that are available on bootleg. That's all I've heard about though.
