I viewed this film once when i was about 11,but dont remember it and i remember not finishing the film.It stars Lon Chaney and Bela Lugosi, classic stars of the genre and universal horror era.I was thinking about the many Vs. films we have been hearing about being made (freddy vs. jason, aliens vs. predator, superman vs. batman) and i was remembering this...bottom line,is it a good film?fun?exciting?its 74 minutes, but back then films were never too long from what i recall.

I bought this a few months back. Not a bad film in the least, but it seemed a tad dry in places. But that is not a knock at the film, I think it's just because of the different style of filmaking/storytelling from that era. I'll have to go back and rewatch the film for any kind of indepth analysis, but it did have good character development with Lawrence Talbot, and the relationship between Frank and Wolfman was good.
Definitly worth a look

Back in first grade, after I had been introduced to the Universal monster films, my parents bought this one for me. It's ironic that Bela Lugosi turned down the role of the Frankenstein monster in 1931, but ended up playing him in this film. What I like is what they do with my favorite monster The Wolf Man. Seeing Lawrence Talbot come back to life after grave-robbers break into his tomb surprised me back then. It was good to see the motherly gypsy Maria Ouspenskaya again. Her character cared for Larry a lot since her late son was a werewolf. The fight between Frankie and Wolfie is cool.

yeah the gypsy lady scared me when i watched it back in the day as a wee kid.just suddenly literally out of nowhere got huge interest in checking this one out again.like i said, since we are among so many remakes and Vs. films, this could easily be one soon to come,i thought of ideas in my head and did some casting for a modern day take on it,but want to view it again.

This is one of my favorite of Universal Monsters collection. Love the opening scenes with the graverobbers stealing from Talbots tomb and then he rises from the grave!!!  ...The Wolf-Man LIVES.

yeah the opening scene is just about all i remember...i also remember it being a short 70 minutes or short total running time but back then that was normal and average.

It's on a double feature disc with House of Frankenstein, but it's AWFULLY (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005LC4K/qid=1074304805/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/104-9525293-4710347?v=glance&s=dvd) pricey.
