hell, i'd see both. which says a lot about me and the craziness of my tastes.

anyway, what does it matter what does best at the box office? surely if you enjoy a movie, or anticpate a movie, the box office perfomance is painfully irrelevant.

The target audience for Legally Blonde 2 is so completely different from that of T3 that it will certainly not be affected by it. T3 is an R-rated action film, LB2 is a PG (13) family flick, or "chick flick" (I hate that term)...Neither is likely to suffer from the other, and there's plenty of box office to go around on that weekend for everyone.

If anything Legally Blonde 2 is going to hurt T3 box office. Reese Witherspoon has a lot of fans. I'm not knocking Arnold or anything, but don't underestimate LB2. I think T3 is going to suffer because of this movie.

I agree, look how good the Lizzie McGuire movie did up against X2. I wish X2 had that extra 17 million.

Both movies in my opinion will do really well, with T3 making the most $$$ in the end. I predict $215m for T3, and $140m for LB2.

Ugh, I agree, unfortunately. Legally Blonde 2 will hurt T3's success, as for some reason people would rather see another cookie-cutter chick flick than a kick-ass action spectacle.

Plus, Reese Witherspoon is such a ditzy bimbo. God, I wish someone would just slap the shit out of her!

Call up Ryan and see if he'll do it.

Nope...T3 has a "female" villain, and T3's R rating dont mean a thing... any female would want to see T3 just because of the "TX" kicking Arnie's ass. :D So "Legally Blonde 2" doesn't stand a chance against it.

dont forget the character of kate brewster played by Claire Danes, she is the heroine of T3.

I dont see LB2 as a threat. LB1 made $96 million domestically in 2001. T2 made $204 million domestically a decade before that, and it was rated R.

Here is my prediction for the July 2 opening weekend:

T3: $85-$100 million in five days
LB2: $25-$30 million in five days

It's called "counter programming" if I remember correctly.

It's not dumb, but in fact very intelligent. T3 and LB2 try to reach different audiences. They don't compete against each other. It would be pretty dumb to release an action film on the same weekend as T3. To a lesser extent, it would be dumb to release any film which primarily targets at men between 13 and 35, which is the main market for T3 (I've understood it's PG-13),.

Legally Blonde did 96 million, so the sequel should have a healty life if it lives up to the expectations.

T3 will be rated R, the producers confirmed it and most of the content in the movie will get an R rating. Expect to see the official confirmation of the R rating with the new trailer.

BTW, i have to ask, where the hell did these "T3 is PG-13" rumors come from?

well maybe thats what they need,to stop pouring out sequels that are totally unneeded.

Unfortunately, Legally Blonde 2 will probably do quite well but I do think T3 will do better (It better or I will personally attempt to slap everyone who paid to see Legally Blonde 2 instead of T3).

well who would have known the 1st LB movie become a hit? As for T3 it is risky cause well its Ahnuld and what the chracter he plays is the MAJOR thing goin for the movie. And LB2 is riding on the Reese.... Hey I am suprised that Lizzie Maguire finshed 2nd against X2 so who knows when LB2 & T3 duke it out on it their opening dates.

T3 without question.

I've said this before but I'll say it again. T3 will have the biggest box office but LB2 will pretty close behind. I will see both. But T3 is MUCH higher on my need to see list. But, although I wasn't a terribly big fan of Legally Blonde, the sequal I think actually looks pretty funny. Even though it looks like little more than a rehash of the first.

LB2 will not be close behind. It will definitely be No. 2 that weekend, however. legally blonde isnt terminator. T3 will most likely have an $85 million opening weekend. You cant tell me that LB2 will have $70 million or something, thats insane. I say $35 million for LB2 maximum. If LB2 didnt have T3 as competition, it would make $50 million easy.

T3 will have the bigger opening weekend, and higher grosses, but LB2 will make more money. From a marketing cost, budgetary standpoint, LB2 wouldn't require a huge amount of money to make a profit. Whereas T3 has a budget in the 170M range, it won't be as profitable

This whole thing sounds a nightmare for couples. Girl = Legally Blonde 2, Boy = T3. I myself will be damned if I'm going to go and sit in the cinema watching LB2 while T3 is playing in the screen next to me.

I dunno, i kinda see LB2 not doing so well. Its like Anylize That, the original was great and made some money but the 2nd bombed due to fact that interest changed and timing. I just dont see it doing the business the first one did and certainly dont think it will be a threat to T3.

These type of movies just are not funny the 2nd time around because all the characters funny traits have already been used up in the first and the jokes are often recycled from the first, just to a greater extent.

That doesn't change anything. When a boy and a girl are on a date, and the girl gets to choose, unless she's a very cool girl, she'll wanna see Legally Blonde 2. It's basically a chick flick. The girl will drag her boyfriend to see it because she can make him. Having a female villain won't drastically change the girl's opinions

Absolutly right. Invincible you are either single or have a cool girlfriend. We men are weak when it comes to choosing movies with girlfriends. Fortantly my girlfriend will sit through any movie with me :D

The first terminator film also appealed to the female audience because of the love story between kyle reese and sarah connor. there is a similar scenario in T3 as well. There is a love story between john connor (the hero of the film) and kate brewster (the heroine of the film).

I'm just saying on a weekend, with a Witherspoon starring vehicle sequel coming out, girls with boyfriends will drag them to see LB2. Witherspoon starring vehicle>big budget action movie, that's how many females with bf's work
