No, these are NOT pictures of the INDIANA JONES IV shooting, which hasn't yet started anyways. They're pics from the YOUNG INDIANA JONES CHRONICLES television show episode titled Young Indiana Jones And the Mystery of the Blues, in which Harrison Ford had a cameo in a scene in which Indiana Jones and an Indian guide snowbound in 1950's Wyoming to escape pursuers that are after an artifact they have in their possession. Ford was shooting THE FUGITIVE at the time Lucas called him to shoot the cameo, and he still had the beard his character needed for that movie, and so Lucas decided he should keep it and make the 50-year old Indy graybearded.

Now here's just one thought that crossed my mind...INDIANA JONES IV will take place in the 1950's also, as we all know by now. Do you think it's a possibility they might use the beard again? Do you think it'd be a good idea? How do you think it looks? Would it bother you if it was there, or would you think it's a welcome change to go with the character's aging?

Any thoughts are accepted. :)

I remember back in the mid 90s they did a movie for the young indiana jones show and they had an old!!! Indy telling his stories, this guy looked horrible and he even had an eye patch.I think he should keep the beard off.

I find that a young guy with at beard will look older and then when you reach a certain age a beard will make you look younger. Harrison Ford would definitely look a bit younger with a beard. He would look even younger if he dyed his hair and beard black for Indy IV. What do you guys think?

All I have to say is WHO GIVES A SHIT,
as long as we get to see Indy in all his glory, one last time before Ford kicks the bucket.

i think it is an interesting perspective James!

I like the idea, though i always liked the nice 5 o'clock shadow on Indy, if it can make him look 'less old' than what he might look like without, then i could dig in.

The beard Indy sports in the Young Indy episode isn't much of a beard to be honest. It's alot of overgrown stubble. He would have gotten that after not shaving for 2 weeks. In Temple of Doom he gets loads of stubble over a couple of days. In the YI episode he could have just not shaved. He is stuckin a log cabin up a snow caped mountain at the time. He is cleanly shaven as an old man too suggesting that he doesn't want a beard.

As for Indy 4 stubble or beard, it is still going to be the best moive for years. He will probably have stubble though because there will probably be a scene were he needs to look smooth (like the opening of all of the movies). I can't wait for this movie!

Ladies and gents, a little off-topic sidenote: allow me to introduce one of my friends, co-director and story-finder of my first home made movie, THE SON OF THE SUNS. He also plays bad guy José Vador in the movie...thus, the screenname.

Greetin's to him. Oh, and he doesn't speak english. I bet he needed a couple of hours to cough up that post. ;)
