View Full Version : Clooney As Mr Fantastic?
All I have to say is... YES!!!
I think this would be great casting, he's the right age and talented at striking the balance between acting and light comedy a good superhero movie needs (don't blame him for Batman, De Niro at his best couldn't have saved that lump of shit that passed for a script).
As for the rest of the four, some thoughts:
Invisible Woman: Reese Witherspoon?
Thing: CGI, obviously, but the voice is key; Vin Diesil?
Human Torch: I'd go for an unknown here as this is already going to be an expensive flick before you pay any cast.
So, any thoughts?

What type of character would he be playing?

GC would be PERFECT but Reese Witherspoon? Are you nuts? She'd have to be pairing up with Old Man Clooney, remember? We'd need someone who isn't so cutesey. Hmmm...how about:
Invisible Girl: Charlize Theron
Perfect IMHO.
Ben Grimm: The Rock (no pun intended)
Probably too 'pretty'
Human Torch: Hayden Christensen?
Need a young hotshot (again, no pun intended) for this role and he seems to fit the bill.

John C Riley as the Thing, that would be amazing. I'm happy with Clooney as Mr. Fantastic, and i await to hear more casting news.
I'm not a big fan of Theron, don't think she's much of an actress (I hope Monster shows i'm wrong) but I mentioned Resse Witherspoon merely because I am more of a fan of hers and she has the right look for the part. Also remember that in the comics Sue is clearly quite a bit younger than Reed (and I'm sure they'd be more inclined to cast the part younger).
Guess I'd suck as casting director, huh?

George Clooney as Mr. Fantastic is perfect casting. Naomi Watts is the best choice for the Invisible Woman and Paul Walker was born to be the Human Torch. As for the Thing, I suggest Vincent D'Onofrio or Tom Sizemore.

I see Clooney as Stretch and Charlize is amazing as Sue Richards, I see the kid who played Johnny Storm in the first X-Men flick and as for the thing he should be CGI thats really the only thing that he could be, trust me I really dont want to suffer through this stuff, Do you?

George Clooney is great casting
For the Invisible Woman I've had my heart set on Mira Sorvino for the role for years now; watch Mimic: she even runs like a superhero! :p
I agree with Paul Walker for the Human Torch; I can't really think of anyone else who wouldn't require a horrific dyejob. Vin Diesel for the Thing would be cool too.
Any thoughts on Doctor Doom?

Any thoughts on Doctor Doom?
He'd have to be a nobody, since no major star would tolerate having to wear a metal plate on their face for the majority of the film.

Reed Richards (Mr Fantastic) - George Clooney is just find and fucking dandy thank you very much
Sue Richards (Invisible Girl) - I'm gonna suggest that Michelle Pfeiffer would be a damn fine choice for this role
I'll be back later with some suggestions for Johnny Storm (The Human Torch) and Ben Grimm (The Thing)

I always thought DeNiro would be a great voicer for the Thing.
I haven't got a clue for Torch, but Renee Zellweger would be great for Sue and possibly easy to get consider she says Clooney is one of her best friends.

MMM... Im undecided on Clooney playing Reed Richards but i think they could do a lot worse. I would prefer him as Tony Stark.

It going to be the same mistake they made with Lost in Space. Reed is supposed to be a genius, and that not cool. Clonely looks to "down with the underground" cool to play reed. They would also need an actor who can do obsessive compulsive well. Reed is a different kind of cool then Clooney. But I agree that he would make a good Stark.
