ok, i've worked in a movie theatre, so i know how annoying some customers can be. but i went to the movies the other day (at the same place i useto work at) and i am always nice to the workers cause i know how crappy the job can be. well, there were a few people behind the concession stand, but only one girl wasn't doing anything but staring into space. she was behind a register, so i walked up to her, smiled and said "i'd like.." then she rudely said "im not open" so i look over and no one is paying attention. i said "oh who is?" nicely. very nicely. the girl didn't even answer me....but the girl doing a lot of work behind the counter walked over and said "im open over here" and i went over there.

man, the first girl didn't have to be so freakin rude to me. i am not psychic, i can't just look at you and say "oh, since she is the only one standing behind a register not doing anything she must not be open"

its like, i know you hate your job, but i have a job too and i am a human being...you're not the only one with a sucky job in the entire world. GET OVER IT!

grrr....

I work at a theatre...I hardly think it's a shitty job, I love it. I agree that the workers have no place to be rude to customers...as long as they're reasonable. I reserve the right to treat a customer like dirt if they do the same to me, poetic justice. But to single out someone, for no reason, that's dirty, and you should then in return chastise the bitch.

Don't take shit, but don't give it as an initiator. Do unto others I suppose...anyways, you have a good point and you are correct. But don't hate me because I'm beautiful...er...a clerk at a movie theatre.

Freek if that girl gave me attitude, I would ask for a manager. And if she sassed back asking why? I would respond, I want to talk to the manager cause I want you FIRED! That would put that "beeetch" in place...;)

There is no reason for people to be rude to kind customers. However I also understand what it's like working at a shit job where the general public goes. The general public... meaning the majority of people are... very dumb and usually assholes. Those classifications probably rubbed off on her.

Back in October, the theatre line had updated their movieline and said that they were getting THE RING that weekend. I checked back later that day and it wasn't there, so I called the theatre and asked if they were getting it, just to confirm from the source. I calmly asked if they were getting THE RING, but the employee on the other end reacted as if I screamed at her on the phone, rudely saying that they weren't going to get it and that what's final is final. The worst part is when I came to the theatre that weekend to catch some other flicks, the manager came up to me (they know me by name and face there) and asked me why I was harrassing the employees. If calmly asking if a movie's coming qualifies as harrassment, then I bet two-thirds of the city must be assholes.

i wouldn't hate you for that because before i became a chief at the theatre i worked at, i loved working at the theatre!

oh, and that reminds me also of this other time.....

it was when harry potter came out and my mom and i were pretty darn early, but it was opening day (the first showing) and you pretty much have to get there 1 hour early. we were there 1 1/2 hours early cause i wanted a good seat. well, when i went in to ask if we could go and wait in line, this one kid laughed at me and was like "the movie is in 1 1/2 hours" and he kept laughing at me (in a mean way)....i told them that i thought we would be able to go in. but he kept laughing. as i turned out, i said "thats not nice....i made a mistake" and i left. now every time i go to that theatre, the guy looks at me like im his friend. i just say whatever and go on with my business.

yes, like i said, i worked in the same exact movie theatre. i would get annoyed at people, but i had a good reason to go over to her and assume she was open. everyone else was busy. so i found it uncalled for. trust me, i know how annoying that exact job can be. but i was nice. even people would walk up to me and be like "are you actually open?" and be all rude, but i certainly wasn't one of those people.

Yeah, I remember a few people at the theater I was working at who had attitude problems. It didn't matter how many people complained about them, nothing was done with them. I think it was simply becasue the theater needed the workers and really couldn't afford to fire anybody.

Sure I unleashed an attitude on my fair share of customers, but only on the jerks and assholes. I always tried to be nice until the customer went so far that I couldn't take their crap anymore.
