For those that have seen Say Anything, you should obviously know about Cusack's awesome use of Peter Gabirel's "In Your Eyes"... very romantic, sweet and such... great moment...

Anyway, since we don't live in the movies, one could only wish, though... to the guys and girls, if you had the chance, which song would you use as your "Say Anything" moment?... and no, you can't say "In Your Eyes"... come up with your own damn song ;)

As for my choice.... hmmm, how does "With Or Without You" by U2 sound ladies? :)

Gonna have to be U2 again. All I Want Is You is just such an amazing song. I'll never understand why certain pockets of the press express nothing but criticism and disdain for U2. This song is testament to their songwriting genius.

I have actually done the Boombox scene to a girl once. But I dident use "In your eyes" I used Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve. People who know me, know that Bittersweet Symphony is my favorite song of all time.

What Can I Say?, When You're On Top For Soo Long, The Little People Tend To Throw Rocks To The Sky.

For Me: Stay (Far Away So Close) By U2 (Again),Just An Amazing Song Aswell.

My 'Say Anything' moment was at the ex's 21st a few years ago. i had arranged a secret party for her, took her for a meal and then onto the 'happening'. As she walked in I had requested the DJ play 'our song'. It was Reef - Consideration.

I'm actually going to steal mine from Darren from Gerling who rang up the national alternative radio station and requested Talking Head's "Once in a Lifetime" for a girl he was courting.

Now, I know there's nothing particularly romantic about that song, but it has the funkiest ass rhythym and most definitely a quality life message.

"And you may ask yourself... how did I get here?"

Crush by Dave Matthews Band. Absolutely brilliant tune.

Oh, for me it would have to be Modern English - I Melt With You.

I wonder why no one has picked Girlfriend In A Coma by The Smiths?:D

Aerosmith's "I don't wanna miss a thing". Or Blues Travler's "The Hook"

Mine would be 'Open Arms' by Jouney. Steve Perry's voice just makes my knees weak!

My song would have to be Something I Can Never Have by Nine Inch Nails. The song is just so much different than any of their Reznor's other stuff. It is so romantic and heartfelt.

Mine would probably be Sail Away by David Gray or All I Want Is You by U2. Two beautiful songs that would be perfect for that Say Anything moment.

You are my new best friend Rated R, though I would've gone with Barrytown, Eddie Walker, or Philosophy.

Ben Folds is my everything... and more.

I'd use "Custard Pie" by Led Zeppelin. Yeah, that's a romantic song.

Maybe a reminder of the lyrics from that song will make you see why I chose it...

Nobody does it better
Makes me feel sad for the rest
Nobody does it half as good as you
Baby, you're the best

----

And nobody does it better
Though sometimes I wish someone could
Nobody does it quite the way you do
Why'd you have to be so good?

The way that you hold me
Whenever you hold me
There's some kind of magic inside you
That keeps me from runnin'
But just keep it comin'
How'd you learn to do the things you do?

Oh, and nobody does it better
Makes me feel sad for the rest
Nobody does it half as good as you
Baby, baby, darlin', you're the best

Baby you're the best
Darlin', you're the best
Baby you're the best

Just because it's from a Bond film doesn't make it any less meaningful, bob.

Not at all. What makes it less meaningful is the fact that it's buy Carly Simon, and you are, to my best knowledge, a heterosexual male.

I'm just joshing you, Sev. I respect everyone's right to like whatever music they want. I don't really have any specific dislike for Carly Simon, it's just that I always hear that "You're so Vain" song every time I hear or see her name.

I am a heterosexual male and interestingly enough "You're So Vain" is one of my favorite songs ever. :D

Nope, I got it. I even did a 'boom-tish' when I read it.

I've got a good 'un and a bad 'un.

Bad 'un. First love break-up. Raining. November. In my car. She gave me back the necklace I gave her two years before, and walked out of my life. Guns 'n' Roses 'November Rain' was playing, I shit you not! Two months later she was pregnant to a distant friend of mine. Absolutely guttered.

Good 'un. In the mountains with friends, including a girl who I'd been really good mates with for a long time. We were keen on each other but we were prone to letting opportunities slip. Anyway, we'd had most of the night together drinking wine in front of a fire, but I was too shit-scared to try anything. In the morning, she had packed up early, and was getting a lift back home with her best friend. By the time I got up she was just about to leave. I could tell she'd hoped to have left before I got up. Anyway, she hardly said two words to me, refused to look me in the eye, and shied away from my peck on the cheek. I was feeling a bit blue, thinking I'd blown it for good, so I went downstairs to get away from everyone. I was sitting there on my own for a long time, then all of a sudden, she came down the stairs and walked into my arms. 'Sway' by Bic Runga was playing. I'll never forget that moment, it's as clear as day.

In college I seronaded a girl on her birthday with "Haunted When the Minutes Drag" by Love and Rockets. We were like the only ones who knew this song, so it was like a bonding moment.

Oh man, notch... that was weird! I know this thread is old, but this is the first time I've visited it....

I was in a U2 mood, and had pressed the play button for "With or Without You." Then I click this thread, and read your first two paragraphs.... I guess since I'm listening to it... I chose "With or Without You" as my pick. Then I scroll down, ..and it's your! Ah, that's not really cool, is it? I'm a geek...

So, I'll choose another....

Anything you Want - Roy Orbison

'Amazed' by Lonestar.

My g/f and I had been broken up for almost a year, and it was our song. Well, are feelings for each other had risen once again and we got back together. So on our first date as a new couple, I played this song in the car on the way home from the theater. She started crying, we told each other we love each other, and we kissed.

Then, 2 months later, the bitch cheats on me and ruins my fucking life.

Anywho, that was my 'Say Anything' moment.
