Maybe it's just me, but I was watching some previews for DOWN WITH LOVE the last couple of days and I noticed that Ewan was much skinnier than he used to be.
Back when he made Pillow Book, Moulin Rouge, etc. he looked more healthy. I wouldn't say he was chubby, but he was fit. I don't have a problem with how he looks now, but I think he's starting to look much thinner, is it just me?

I've noticed he doens't look as good lately as he did a while back but I didn't attribute it to weight- I thought I must not like his hair cut. I'll have to check him out in his new movie and see what's up. I really enjoy him as an actor.

VELVET GOLDMINE has him very skinny, not as he was in TRAINSPOTTING, but svelte to say the least.
I avoid the DOWN WITH LOVE commercials for fear of vomiting.

Well, in his younger days he was a right stick (see: Trainspotting, Velvet Goldmine...etc.) and then he put on some pounds for movies like Moulin Rouge, Nora, Little Voice...etc.
He looks a bit healthier when he's Moulin Rouge-sized, but I attribute his slight awkward appearance in Down with Love to the haircut. I think he's downright gorgeous in Trainspotting, so I think the side burns and Ricky Ricardo hair just don't compliment the weight. It just doesn't quite match up.

I agree that it's just his 60's haircut. I've seen some stills from "Big Fish" and he looks like he did before "Down With Love," so it has to be the haircut.

I saw him being interviewed the other day and thought he looked terrific. However, there was an interview with him in the paper this week and he loked VERY thin. It suits him, though.
