I'm listening to T-Rex at the mo'...and Christ on a bike, WHY aren't they mentioned more about this place...???
Marc Bolan RAWKS for starters, and their sound is truly unique in my opinion.
Just where does that fab' accent come from???
Glam...Glitz...and a good ol' fashioned BOOGIE, I luuuuuuurve them.
My favourite tunes...
~Ride a White Swan
~Cosmic Dancer
~(Bang a Gong) Get It On
~Solid Gold Easy Action
~Diamond Meadows
~Children of the Revolution
~Chariot Choogle
~Jeepster
~Spaceball Ricochet
~I Love To Boogie
~20th Century Boy
~Telegram Sam
Come on T-Rexer's...
Crawl out from 'neath the woodwork and discuss!!!

I *love* T-Rex. Seriously, I have trouble describing a better experience than blasting (Bang a Gong) Get it On and acting like a complete fool dancing about the room.
I've been in love with the music since 2000 when I saw Billy Elliot and there was some beautiful uses of it.
God, let's crank it up, shall we?
...Well you're dirty and sweet, clad in black, don't look back, and I love you...
That's the stuff

Without T rex there may have never been a david bowie. The man paved the way for glam rock. Have any of you guys heard alot of his early folk stuff with tyrannasoraus Rex? Its crazy stuff but fun. The man had a voice like liquid honey and the imagination to make it interesting.

Tyrannasoraus Rex you say???
Oooooooh, It's time to do a bit of downloading methinks...*kicks Kazaa into action*...BOBS YOUR UNCLE, it's tracked down a couple...:)
I shall post my thoughts tomorrow.
Glad to see a bit of love in the thread.
What a man! What a voice!
You're dead-on about Billy Elliot Ms. Hall...I Love to Boogie and Cosmic Dancer are both put to wonderful use, and whilst I adore the flick anyway...the soundtrack doesn't half make a difference.
You're built like a car...You got a hubcap diamand star halo...You're built like a car, Oh yeah...
That IS most definitely "the stuff".

My cousin left me a bunch of the vinyl when she moved out in the 70s, after that I was hooked ;)
There were quite a few Marc Bolan and T-Rex Videos put out a few years ago, while most are out of print I'm sure you can find them used or booted. I remember one of them went deep in detail on his death, it was actually so weird how it happenned you couldn't help but snicker while feeling bad and guilty for chuckling at the same time.
It seems Marc had a little game he enjoyed playing, he'd drive down a street with his eyes closed and let his karma be his guide. The weird part is a bandmate said in the movie that he had done this for years without a problem. One day he asked his GF to give it a try, that's when the accident happenned and he died. His bandmates said that one of two things was responsible for his death and it wasn't his GF...either bad karma killed him or it was his fault for asking a woman driver to close her eyes when knowing damn well how women drive (his words not mine). Eventhough the band didn't blame Marc's GF his wife sure did ;)
The guy had a gift though and I don't mean just his voice...seeing his appearances on those videos the man knew how to play the crowd. He had an innocent quality while dressing in glam rags...something very hard to do. When he performed Life's a Gas in front of a studio audience they all fell silent to hear him just sit there, play his accoustic guitar and sing. God, he had a voice.
