this is interesting news, do u think this collaboration will pay off? (via dailydish/sfgate.com)

WEILAND JOINS GUNS PROJECT
LATEST: Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland has been named as the new vocalist for the band featuring former Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.
The rocker has already worked with the Project on upcoming tracks for movies "The Hulk" and "The Italian Job" and now he has beaten out former Skid Row star Sebastian Bach to become the group's permanent frontman.

He says, "I'm in the band. We signed the contract."

The first thing the group are going to do is rename themselves Reloaded, according to Weiland. A full-length album is expected next year.

Hmmm, I am very interested how this will all pan out. I used to love STP and GNR so maybe the collaboration won't be so bad.

Hmm.. I just heard on the news that the deal is not sealed yet. Apparently one of the lawyers dispelled the rumour that Weiland is now officially fronting this band.

Weiland is second only to Chris Cornell out of the 90's Seattle movement for sheer vocal power and real vocal ability. The only person who can stand in his way is the guy in the mirror. I've always liked him, and I hope this can stay on the rails.

The only person in G n'R that I ever really hated was their scumbag frontman, so this is welcome news.
