TV commericals, all of em. Yay or Nay?

Commercials are such a subtle thing that its easy to sit through them. However I think TV shows would be much better with 0 commericals. Of course money is being lost and such but just as a rant in general I would like to say commercials really slice my attention sometimes when I watch a TV show. Some channels have 2-4 minutes of the things! I remember that last golf tournament, The Masters, was commerical free. Very entertaining this way. And I dont even want to get into specific commericals like Girls Gone Wild etc. I guess I like them during the Superbowl and I do enjoy movie trailers etc.. but in gerenal I say NAY.

I despise commercial interruptions. Yeah, they're an integral part of our economy, but 7-minute commercial breaks are just unreasonable. And 99.9% of the time, they don't influence my purchasing decisions. Commercials disrupt the flow of movies, TV shows, and sporting events (well, sporting events tend to disrupt themselves).

Of course, there are exceptions to this...some ads are decent when there's good music and clever advertisement but that's very rare.

I'm pretty sure that most asian countries have ads at an half-hour interval. If a 30-min show is playing, after the show ends, that's when the ads would run. Simple as that. Nothing is interrupted and there would be plenty of time to do whatever you need to do during breaks.

Im very 50-50 when it comes to commercials. For starters, they do give u time to do what u gotta do. A 30 sec spot can be entertaining and often what were they thinking?!?! I do get annoyed if a channel accidently/purposely runs the SAME ad within a 20 minute rotation...Grrrrrrr...

i absolutely fuckin HATE commercials... ive found it helpful to press the "mute" button on my remote, when these gaddam things come on, that way it takes away from the FULL pain of enduring them, now you only haveta watch and not hear... makes it a lot more bearable!

I Totally agree they throw commercials in at times during the movie when your getting the most involved.....Then the commercial totally takes you out of the movie.....Thus making TV movies always slow and boring....

I hate it where they show two comercials in a row for the exact same product. Like 1-800-COLLECT ads, with the angel? They show two ads featuring her one right after the other.

And on a serious note, think of it this way. You're watching Giant, commercial-free. Now that's a helluva long movie. But you're into it, and you have to piss like a racehorse. Now, unless you're super-fucking-hardcore, you're gonna wanna "relieve yourself" somewhere other than the front of your underpants. But nay does a commercial come on. So you've got to run and miss some of it. Then you hit yourself when you get back because they're talking about some shit you don't know! And you say, dammit if there was a commercial I wouldn't have to miss anything!
