GELLAR ANGERS BUFFY CO-STAR
Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has been slammed by her "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" co-star Alyson Hannigan for failing to tell castmembers she was quitting the show.

Gellar announced in February that the show would come to an end just weeks later, so she could concentrate on her marriage to Hollywood hunk Freddie Prinze Jr.

But Hannigan is still angry she had to find out the news from the press.

She says of the announcement, "It wasn't that big of a surprise, but finding out from a magazine article -- that sucked. I'm really upset that that's the way the cast and crew found out they would be unemployed."

Hannigan has yet to receive an apology from Gellar, adding, "She hasn't said anything."

I don't think she should be all that surprised. SMG is and always has been a bitch.

SMG has some attitude problems obviously and it seems that ever since she got engaged she's been acting like a right bitch. It was disappointing to hear this, I will still respect SMG as an actress but I love Alyson more and its disappointing that more and more bad news about Sarah has been coming out.

I've just come from working on the FSF Buffy Convention here in Sydney. This year's guests were Danny Strong and Tom Lenk (Jonathan and Andrew). During their Q&A session one fan asked about the rumoured frictions between certain castmembers, and both insisted those stories were completely unfounded, everyone in the cast got on extremely well.

They could have been just being diplomatic, I'm not sure. I'm not a big fan of the show so I don't keep up with gossip on it. But they seemed very sincere when they were talking about it, so I'm inclined to believe them.

AH did say in an interview a couple of years ago for uk scifi mag SFX that she did not get on well with Julie Benz (darla) and would not be happy to work to work with her again. So there were some frictions along the way. I am far to cynical for this everyone is happy bullshit anyway; I like it when people fall out (voyager charmed etc. etc.)

It does make for good, nasty gossip, but "Charmed" was just an accident waiting to happen. I've heard that nobody likes to work with Shannen Doherty. I'm amazed Aaron Spelling hired her for one of his shows after her diva-esque antics on the set of 90210.

After she left, Alyssa Milano even admitted to being a little scared of her and her volatile temper.

I've always sort of liked Shannen, and I still kinda, sorta do, but that show has improved greatly since she left. (Actually, so did 90210. Those latter-day shows when Tiffani Thiessen came in and played Valerie Malone are a quantum leap above the Brenda episodes. That's better writing, but that's also everyone relaxing.)

I gave Shannen the benefit of the doubt after her exit, but when she cited for the exact same things, several years later, by mostly different people...where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

Her problem is easily understood: look at the early publicity photos of the three. Shannen is always front and center. It's been an ensemble show from day one, but she treated it like a star vehiclke for herself. (She's pals w/ SMG and I've always felt she expected the level of ass kissing that Sarah always received over on that set.) When Alyssa became the most popular of the trio, I don't think Shannen's ego could take it, hence the big Season Three freeze out.

The Hell with her. I prefer Rose by a long shot, anyway.

The crew sang the Ding, Dong, The Witch Is Dead song from The Wizard Of Oz when she left.

I've heard all about Sarah Michelle Gellar being a complete bitch multiple times. I didn't really believe it at first -- thought it was just empty gossip, but all the pieces are starting to fit together. She NEVER showed up at conventions and parties related to "Buffy", even if they were for charity, she never contributed any interviews to the DVDs, and I've read rumors about her managing to get her stunt double fired at the end of the fourth season. Alyson Hannigan, on the other hand, always comes across as an extremely nice person who doesn't get angered easily, so if that news report is true it just further highlights what a bitch SMG is.
