Hi. I was wondering if anybody besides me enjoyed this film. Even though I'm a fan of Tim Burton when I first saw I just didn't get it. Yet, recently I saw it on TV again and I really loved it. There are so many funny one-liners, and I just love its supremely campy tone. I a lso love how everyone will not attack these aliens til the last second despite the fact they are ebhing slaughtered left and right.
Great quotes:
" Remeber citizens we ahve two out of three branches of government working for you and that ain't half bad!"
"No doves!!!"
"Kill Kill Kill!"
"We come in peace!" Then alien shoots the unsuspecting person

Over-the-top, cheesball, Tim Burton fun. How could I not like this movie? :D
I liked it very much. It isn't trying to be serious. Just a very fun movie to watch.
A great Burton film.

Burton is pretty flawless. Well, except for the whole Planet of the Apes fiasco, but im trying to forget about that.

I thought I was the only one who liked this movie. I loved how there were big name actors who got killed immediately, I didn't see that coming. It was extremely original, most audiences just aren't open minded enough.

An underrated cheesefest. I loved it for its glee in killing off practically all the major actors, plus the hilarious lines.
It's probably the last film of Tim Burton's that I liked before he went downhill with crap like Sleepy Hollow and Planet of the Apes.

Holy shit....I think Sleepy Hollow (10/10) is his best film after Ed Wood (10/10) and Edward Scissorhands (10/10).
Anyways, Mars Attacks! was funny and everything I thought it would be. I remember seeing it in theatres and just having an absolute blast. Fun shite. 8/10/

Mars Attacks shines within a body of BRILLIANT work! Strangely enough, it's the only one of Burton's films that gets a 10/10 for me! Absolutely a classic! One of the most hilarious comedies of all time!

I agree with you on Planet, But I thought Sleepy Hollow was great. Granted it had a bad actress in a major role and a mediocre script, but Burton's directing was phenomenal. SOme ofthe best pacng, editing, camera angles/movement, and color schemes I've ever seen.

For what it was, a campy 50's type alien movie (but with much better production values), it was fun. Nothing extraordinary, but fun. I also enjoyed Jack Black's small part as the gung-ho soldier who tries killing the head alien in the desert, but has no bullets left in his gun

I like it alot. Pokes fun at just about everything and you gotta respect a movie when one of the few voices of reason in it proposes that everyone should live in tee-pees.

This movie will not win any awards, I hope not at least. But I thought it was funny and I love Tim Burton, 8/10

I thought the movie was a complete flop. To me this does not exist because it shouldn't be on Tim Burton's directed films list. It was a pretty poor film.

First, Thora Birch was way to young at the time to play that kind of character She was 14.

Secoundo, I think you are mistaking with the liquor Tia Maria.
In fact the that alien was played by Lisa Marie, she was Burton's girl at the time, but now, he's with Helena Bonham Carter, they are married (or they will be) and they are expecting they first child
This movie is pure genius. Most of people didn't get it. It doesn't take mitself seriously, it not trying to be a hilarious movie, it's just some kind of parody/hommage to The War of the World and Ed Wood movies. Great, totally great like all of Burton. Only Planet of the Apes was crap.

I know it was not Thora. That was a shout out to my friend BakeTheMooCow.
Ah, hell. Forget it. It was funny to him.
