Opinions are pretty mixed on this film, some people love it and some people think it's trash.
I loved this film, I thought it was pretty damn crazy. All the actors were good (Tommy Lee Jones was hilarious near the end when he was freaking out), and directing was some of the wierdest stuff I've seen (all those POV shots at the beginning). What did you guys think of this film?

This is one the films that I have REALLY mixed feelings about. I enjoyed it to an extent, but whenever I watch it, I can't help think how much better the film could've been had it been written and directed by Tarantino.

Mixed. Some elements worked really well, but the ADD-style filmmaking got old after awhile and struck me as too self-conscious. I saw it once in the theater, but have never bothered to watch it again.

I didn't really like this movie. There were some parts that I did like, but a lot of the parts were too damn weird for me. I'd give it a (2.5/5)

i personally love the hell out of this movie. 10/10. All my friends their opinions ranged from shitty to pretty good. I love it. Everything about it completely appealed to me.
I personally loved this movie, I think it has suffered more negative publicity that it deserved.
This seems to be a curse that affects films that explore subjects that influential instututions or individuals would not like you to see in films.
Natural Born Killers was a powerful exploration of the influence of the media. I doubt there is a more influential force than the media.
I live in the UK where the media has a dangerously powerful influence on the masses, I believe even more than in the US. Respectively, the UK media embarked on a campaign which successfully banned the film the UK for many years. Even though this ban was eventually broken, it successfully curtailed the amount of people who could effectively see the film, unless they went out of their way to find it.

The US media might not be as powerful as the UK's (not sure) but it is equally scary because it is controller by a variety of giant corporations who always simply look for their bottom line, rather then the truth.
I saw this. I have very mixed feelings. I thought some parts of it were semi-powerful. And the opening is grand, and Rodney Dangerfield gives a great performance in his brief role. But the film is very unpleasant, even repulsive. And I say this as someone who likes a lot of really gory horror films, and also as someone who thinks a film like Last House on the Left was pretty good, ya know?
The huge number of cuts hurts my eyes as well.
One thing though, the alternate ending
****spoilers****
Where Mickey and Mallory are killed by the guy who helps them in prison
***end***
is, IMO, much more appropriate and meaningful.

I personally hated this flick. Pitch-perfect acting and a neat idea, but I just could not stand the way Oliver Stone attacked/approached this material.
3/10.

let down by the fact it was directed by the most unsubtle and heavyhanded director on the market
extremely obvious themes
it has its merits and is powerful in parts....but on the whole unsatisfying

I didn't care much for NBK.
In terms of satiric, philosophical and blackly comic content, I thought the film was way too obvious and heavy-handed. For me it always seemed to take the easy way out and never managed to be as bright and smart as it wanted to be.
There were some clever ideas and scenes, but not enough to keep me intellectually satisfied for two hours.
But my biggest complaint was the direction. Every scene had countless of different camera angels, heavy post production filtering and super fast cutting FOR NO APPARENT REASON.
I like movies to use visuals to enchange the story. In NBK the approach distracted me from the story instead of supporting it.
I do get the idea behind the MTV approach, it was part of the satire and draw parallels to the world of commercials and music videos.
But it was also just a gimmick with very little substance. It didn't really bring anything to the film and became very tiresome after the first 20 minutes or so.
There were also some good things about the film. Acting ranged from good to superb all around and technically it was very made. It had it's moments of cleverness and originality.
But I can't really give it more than 5/10.

A very daring movie in a lot of ways.
Technically it used over 15 formats, and editing must have taken months and months. It's way over the useal cuts, must be around 3000..which is a shitload of editing. It's a challenge to WATCH this movie, if you catch my drift. There is just so much to see. I also admired the lighting, whenever you see the colour green, you know something is going to happen. Hence the openingscene and the Drug Store scene.
The story is great and presented with a lot of humor and satire. The way the parts are portrayed is drained with fun and extacy, especially Lewis and Harrelson who are fantastic together, they really spark.
Musicwise it's very interesting. In what kind of movie would you hear Patsy Cline, Leonard Cohen, L7 and Snoop Dogg&Co together?
Sure, the movie runs over you like a bunch of wild dogs, but I like that. I understand that some people have problems with that though..
I actually liked the references to the media and the known criminals; Charles Manson, his interview with Geraldo, Charles Starkweather and Caril Fugate.. I mean, NBK is not that 'out there', sick stuff happens all the time..

I didn't like the way was directed, but the script was very original. I thik my feelings would be very different if it was directed by Tarantino. I can see why he didn't want it highly publicized that he wrote the thing. The dialogue seems his style, but it was so oddly directed that the whole focus of the film was changed from the media to the brutality of the murders.

I love it. It gets a little heavyhanded, but it is otherwise incredible.

I love the part during the prison riot where you see the guy running around with a sign reading "snitch bitch" taped to his back..............my friends and I do this to each other quite often, and only nbk fans understand it.

I personally like it alot, it has been a top 20 movie on my list but over the years it has dropped significantly, to its current spot at #52. Brilliant Directing, Editing, Soundtrack & Acting. I saw it like 4 times in the theatres and my parents at the time thought about seeking professional help for me!!!
It's funny that Tarantino has distanced him from this film due to Stones hatchet job on his treatment of the film.
But lets be honest, it is what it is and that is a brilliant satire on America's blood lust and the media's desire to give it to us faster and better than the competiton.
