Hollywood hunk Mark Wahlberg has declared his upcoming movie The Italian Job the best film he's ever made. Wahlberg says the high-speed heist flick, which also stars Charlize Theron and Edward Norton, far outstrips any of his other flicks, including Planet Of The Apes and Rock Star. He explains, "It just works on every level. First of all, it's surrounded by the best young actors in the business and they all brought their own personalities to the roles. We made a character-driven piece with well-rounded characters. There's no computer-generated effects in this movie. It's kind of back to the basics, but it works as a whole. It has the best stunt sequences and action sequences I've ever seen."

I'm looking forward to this movie, and I don't doubt that will end up better than Planet Of The Apes and The Truth About Charlie, calling his best ever is a big call. Still...this movie looks good, and at least one male star in this film will like his work (I'm looking at you Edward Norton)

Wow. The standard set by those films is really high, the film must really be great to exceed them.
The film looks slick enough for me to see, if not for anything else, because Ed Norton is in it, and he's the man...Can't miss any of his films. Doesn't look like one to go to history books as the greatest remake ever, but...maybe it'll be fun.

I highly doubt this movie can hold a torch to Boogie Nights.

Now me know why he's in so many bad movies. Not that he's a bad actor, and not that I don't like the guy, but there is no way in hell this movie, which does look fun, will be better than Boogie Nights. Apprently he doesn't know a good script when he reads one.
What a shame.

Oh my god! Really? Rock Star? Planet of the Apes? Those films were brilliant!

Well, if Marky Mark himself declares "the Italian Job" to be the best movie he's ever made, I'm just going to have to re-think my original plan of not seeing this!!!
The man obviously has cinematic taste (lets face it, he only signed Boogey Nights for the one scene, hoping everyone would think it was real).

ditto. though he's surrounded himself with some cool actors for this movie (ie. Edward Norton) and a pretty solid director (F. Gary Gray)...
still, the stuff that's been happening with this movie hasn't exactly been positive (example: Ed Norton totally not wanting to do this at all and only doing it because of his contract...)
but yeah, there's almost no way this is going to be better than boogie nights

If Wahlberg says this is his best work, then I better get off my ass and finally watch BOOGIE NIGHTS as soon as I can. THE ITALIAN JOB looks good, but better than what I hear NIGHTS is? Interesting...

He may've made Boogie Nights, but it doesn't sound like hes seen it. But it looks to be at least the best Marky Mark remake of the week, passing up the shit known as Planet of the Apes and The Truth About Charlie
If he thinks it's better than Three Kings he's got problems.

Well, here's what Ed Norton said about it:
"Hypothetically speaking, if I was forced into doing a movie I didn't want to do, I would resent it intensely. Preparation would not be at the forefront of my mind. I would encourage anyone who's a fan of my work to skip the film. Hypothetically speaking."
-Total Film #76
He has hated the project from the beginning, and did it because he was contracted to do it. I'm skipping this one. I'll spend the money on the original DVD...

I think it looks pretty good, but Wahlberg's movies Rock Star, Planet of the Apes, and Fear are awesome movies I'm not sure if he's right about this movie being better but I'll have to wait and see till after I watch The Italian Job.

Watch the fucking movie before you say it's not as good as another movie...jesus. It may or may not be as good as Boogie Nights and I am sure some people will think so. So just watch the movie and then form an opinion.

Mark is an asswipe, but Jason Statham is in it. I'll end up seeing it anyway.

They were debating between Mark and Leonardo Dicaprio when Mark called the director up and said "I've got an inch on Leo". He showed him, then they hired him.

I just got back from The Italian Job sneak preview and I must say that I was impressed. It is one helluva fun , crowd-pleasing comedic action flick!
But it is definitely not Mark Wahlberg's best film, that would be Three Kings, nor is it his second best film, that would be Boogie Nights. HOWEVER IMO, The Italian Job is his third best film, one of only 4 of his films that is worth seeing...the 4th is the silly thriller Fear. All of his other films have sucked....
