I found this on IGN. Double dips are DVDs that have been relesed but are going to be rerelesed with better extras.

Check it out, and don't get dupped into buying the shitty version.

Thanx for the tip.
It's stupid that they actually have Double Dip DVD's.
But, it's a way to make money.
And taht is their main priority and biggest concernt...that they make money from what they are doing.
Oh well, i'll keep an eye out.

I still buy double dip DVDs....I bought the original Dogma, and the new one, and I knew they would make a better version, the studios don't make you buy dvds. I'm sure they will continue to double dip. I knew that they were making an Almost Famous spec. Ed when I bought the original dvd, the features aren't what interests me for the most part, its the movie I want. features are just a bonus of dvd, and if the other dvd has more features, then so be it, i'll buy that one too

I think we gathered there was sarcasm by the emphasis on "just" and the fact that you wanted to buy iron giant...no-one would buy that movie!

The Iron Giant is a great movie.


Anyways, what they should do is do what they're doing with the Matrix, just release another disc with extra features. Sure, no commentary track then, but what's the biggie?


Unless of course, the first DVD is a non-anamorphic, bad image, bad soundtrack, flawed piece of crap.

Good idea Collector. But what about all the people who didn't buy the movie to began with, they might want a movie with some extras on it.

They can release a 2-disc version with the movie in one disc and the supplements in the other.


I mean, take something like MEMENTO for instance. You don't really *need* a commentary track. I'd very much prefer a 1 and a half hour making of featurette. A memento addon cd would simply have the movie in chronological order, and the aforementioned big-ass making of.
