I know that there are computer programs which allow you to make your own DVDs... anyone know anything about them?

Also anyone have any experiences with DVD Burners?

Ive heard that the blank DVD's are $20...I wont consider investing in the technology till it becomes more cost-effective.

However, if you need room for storage, the DVD's hold 4.3 GB of information.

I make a form of DVD called 'Svcd'. It's nearly identical to dvd and can fit on to 2 80min cd-r's. go to www.vcdhelper.com (http://www.vcdhelper.com) to learn more

Id love to do that, but it uses up way too much space to decompress data to my hard drive. =(

yes, cost effecitveness is a major issue but remember when not everyone had or could afford CDR/CDR-W drives? now everyone has them.

but it will still be a long while til DVD burners are as common, just imagine the creative possibilities when they are.

i read about a similar vcd type program that let you make DVDs on CDRs. Menus and all, but you could only watch them on your PC DVD-ROM drive. but that was a while back.

thanks for the website by the way.
