Where do you guys shop to pick up the DVDs you want? Why?

I don't have one place I shop at, I just look for the cheapest price.

My bad!

Let me be more specific. I am looking for a Critrion version of Brazil for cheaper than $45, that is the cheapest I found it for new.

There's a thread like this one here Bill: http://www.joblo.com/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000405.html

I get mine at Blockbuster because my brother's friend works there. I got The Matrix for 21$ after tax. Canadian too. I haven't seen it for cheaper than that at any local stores. Mostly it's about 28 or so before taxes. So I get 'em there now.

Amazon, 800.com, and buy.com are some of the cheapest sites for dvd purchase on the web. I recommend Amazon cause if you use the links provided on the joblo website, some of the proceeds of the transaction would go to supporting the site. Out of the three I mentioned, there usually isnt more than a $2 difference anyways..

Do Walmart (as I heard on this site on the weekend) really edit their movies?

Best Buy is my favorite place, but it's an hour drive away.

For any one living outside USA looking to buy Region 1 try dvdboxoffice.com Cheap, free shipping and about 1 - 2 weeks delivery (to Australia). It's the only way I can get a decent version of most movies.... region 4 sucks

I get a sweet discount (through unnamed sources) at my local Tower Video, so that's the place for me!

I belong to Netflix....a MUST JOIN!...but when I buy something I usually order here at my work from a lady who knows a supplier and gets them for 14.00 new or I'll buy from used cd/dvd places like The Great Escape or Cd Warehouse...When i want something rare I shop at Tower and when i want to buy something current at full price retail i shop at Walmart...but that's rarely.

Hi,

If you have a little money to put up front, you can get 8 dvd's by joining the columbia house dvd club for about less than $100 total. You get 5 initially for around $30, then you have to buy 3 more over two years. That's about another $70 bucks...but in the end it's all less than 13 bucks per dvd.

I did this a couple times to get the james bond 6 packs at a good price...

Otherwise, I use amazon.com and best buy locally. But sometimes I have to go to my local Borders and pay full price for some rare dvds not found at best buy.
