Emma Thompson for Sense and Sensibility

That makes Se7en the most nominated with 5, then 4 for Dead Man Walking and Leaving Las Vegas, and then 3 for The American President, Babe, Braveheart, Twelve Monkeys, and 2 each for Sense & Sensibility and The Usual Suspects.

If the Best Animated Film Oscar existed then, it'd definitely go to Toy Story (9/10).

I think my weakest category is Best Supporting Actress. I'm not sure Mira Sorvino deserves to be there, and Kathleen Quinlan only barely does.

Still haven't seen Muriel's Wedding, but I badly want too...

I just watched it, and it's a 7.5, maybe higher. From this one, I'd substitute in Toni Collette for Best Actress over my previous choice of Meryl Streep, and Rachel Griffiths instead of Mira Sorvino. I was thinking of giving it a Best Original Screenplay nom, but I can't seem to fit it in.

I'm thinking of maybe sticking Jeanie Drynan in for Best Supporting Actress for Muriel's Wedding too, but I dunno...

Memo to all of you SENSE & SENSIBILITY fans: If you think Emma Thompson deserved a nomination for her role in that film, watch CARRINGTON and compare the two....that's all I'll say. She is my official 6th Best Actress nominee for that little-known/seen indie gem.
