There's no way in hell Kate Winslet won't win an Oscar someday. If anything the Academy will give her one to make up for all the times she should have won. She should have had one for Titanic and Sense & Sensibility.
Renée Zellweger is also bound to get one, maybe next year for Cold Mountain.
Julianne Moore had better damn well get an Oscar someday! I can't believe she doesn't have one yet!!!
I think James Gandolfini was an Oscar in his future. Speaking of The Sopranos stars, I wouldn't be surprised to see Edie Falco end up with one as well...
Director Stephen Daldry's bound to get one soon. Early in his career and he's already got two Best Director noms for Billy Elliott and The Hours.
A few more: Jeff Bridges, Cate Blanchett, Ewan McGregor, Billy Bob Thornton (for acting, not writing), Dennis Quaid, Tom Cruise.
Long shorts or maybes: Jennifer Aniston, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Joseph Fiennes

I'd rather be dead than see these two "actors" get oscars in the future.
But as for my list:
JULIANNE MOORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that this woman has not gotten any oscars is proof that Satan exists. If she doesn't get any oscar in the future, I'd probably have a stroke and die.
Kate Winslet
John Cusack
Johnny Depp
Edward Norton
Colin Farrell
Haley Joel Osment
Renee Zellweger
Ewan McGregor

Leonardo DiCaprio - He's already deserved a few, for films such as What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Total Eclipse, Catch Me If You Can, and Titanic.
Haley Joel Osment - At a young age, he's already proven to be EXTREMELY talented. No way there's not a gold and bald guy named Oscar in his future.
Others....
Johnny Depp
Sean Astin
Elijah Wood
Tobey Maguire (Sorry, Hannibal21, but is going to happen. The Cider House Rules, Wonder Boys, and Pleasantville prove this.)
Peter Krause
Dennis Quaid
Edward Norton
Ewan McGregor
I reall can't think of many females. Most of my favorite actresses have won Oscars, and I am not a big fan of Julianne Moore or Renee Zellweger. I guess..... Kate Winslet, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Watson.

Oh yeah, good call on Leo Dicaprio. Most of his performances are overlooked and he has proven himself talented so I'll wait and see.

Leonardo DiCaprio will defiantly win sometime in his career, especially with the way he is attaching himself with A-List directors like Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.
Ed Harris also has pretty good odds.
Raoul Duke
05-26-2003, 04:47 PM
Edward Norton
Martin Scorsese(should have won AT LEAST one god damn Oscar by now)
Steve Buscemi
Ray Liotta(he should, I think he's great)
Jon Cusak
David Fincher
Christopher Nolan
Darren Aronofsky
PT Anderson

Yeah that's right. I mean I wonder how any Academy member would see her in either The Hours or especially Far From Heaven this year and vote BLINDLY for her????
Not to mention her superb performances in The End of the Affair, Boogie Nights and even in Hannibal.

Directors

I'd like to add David Lynch, P.T. Anderson, & Darren Aronofsky to that list of directors, but I don't see the Academy awarding them. Nominations are likely, but not wins.

Actors
John Cusack
Leonardo DiCaprio-No matter how much you may dislike this guy his performances in "Whats Eating Gilbert Grape" and "Titanic" for example show how talented he is and sooner or later he's going to get 1.
Tom Hanks-Yes he already has two but with the types of rolls he plays and the amazing job he always does I wouldn't be suprised to see him get number 3.
Elijah Wood
Johnny Depp
Steve Buscemi
Colin Farrell-Say what you want but this Irishman can act "Tigerland" "Minority Report" "Phone Booth"
Haley Joel Osmant
Brad Pitt
Actresses
Kate Winslet
Katie Holmes
Julianne Moore
Directors
Martin Scorsese-The fact that he has yet to win one proves the academy has no Idea what they are doing.
Cameron Crow-He has one as a writer [best original screenplay for Almost Famous] but eventually he'll get one as a director.
Darren Aronofsky-PI and Requiem for a Dream two powerful and moving films.
Joel Coen
Spike Jonze
Peter Jackson-Yes the LOTHR films are great he should have won for FOTR and will probably get nominated at least for ROTK one of his early films "Heavenly Creatures" shows that he is a real talent and that there is more to him than the Trilogy.
this is what I have for now

You hit the nail on the head there. But don't fear, you won't be having that stroke - she'll get an oscar in 3 years tops.
Renee Zellweger and Kate Winslet are also long overdue but I'm confident will win in the next few years as well.

I'm okay w/ Gyllenhall, myself (I think he's quite talented, as is his intriguing sister...) but Dunst would probably cause me to take hostages. But considering some of the lack talents who've stolen Oscars in the last few years...I wouldn't be surprised.

Satan exists and he works his evil via a tall, red haired, alabasater-skinned "actress".
Her and that perpetually pregnant Welsh harpie shouldn't've been allowed into this year's ceremonies, at least without having to pay, much less won anything.

Uh, I was actually talking about Tobey Maguire, Buck. Gyllenhaal getting an oscar is fine by me, he's very talented.
Maguire, however  , one dimesional. Nobody does Tobey Maguire better than Tobey Maguire. :o

Sorry, that one was my fault. Well, it all comes out the same. I like Maguire as much as I like Gyllenhall, although I'm iffy on his sister status.

Disagree with you there. I thought he was really good in Spider-Man but to see him at his absolute best then see Wonder Boys and The Cider House Rules

There's obvious choices, but I won't name any. I think it's possible for almost any actor/director/screenwriter/whoever to win an academy award (okay, we'll discount Carrot Top, Sinbad and Tom Green for the sake of arguement....) I mean, who in their right mind, while watching Hiliary Swank on Beverly Hills 90210, would have guessed that she'd one day go on to win an Academy Award? Not only winning, but beating out the likes of Anne Bancroft to do it???? Just goes to show, with the right role (and obviously some amount of talent) that anyone can turn in a performance worthy of Oscar!

Yeah, he was pretty good in Wonder Boys and was decent enough in The Ice Storm, but in everything else he's just the same character to me, even in Spider-Man and The Cider House Rules.
