I am abouslutly fed up to the back theeth with some schomes attempting to discredit films with the two most annoying words in the world and they are.
IT SUCKS!
It's like some people have the mentality of a seven year old if you dislike a film of course nobody is going to stop your opinion but c'mon create a little more than the S word.
It makes you look like you ethier haven't seen the film in question and just intentionaly causing a storm or you don't know what the film was about and typed IT SUCKS or even worse IT SUX.
Back up your opinions with more than two words and your view will always be respected.

Not using the S-word? That sux! :D
Back when I started on this board three years ago, I was definitely guilty of doing that.
But now that I've been here for a while, I like to think that I back up most of my arguments with something that, if not intelligent, is at least easy to read.

there are times i will resort to that, i admit. i am by definition a lazy person, and sometimes i find it easier to do that. but i do, for the most part, try and give supporting reasons.
but, if the odd lapse means i have the mentality of a 7 year old, then so be it.
life was easier at that age anyway ;)

Sometimes its just a really good way to sum up a film. It sucks. Plain and simple. No mental capacity needed at all to describe it, it just fits.
This topic sucks. :D

Yes but what you have to understand is that my moaning is aimed at people who only ever say a film sucked and hardly ever gives any other valid reason why.
Especialy when it seems that it is said just to gain a reaction now that really pisses me off.

hmmm well i can see your point to a certain degree. but sometimes, seriously, its the only thing that comes to mind after a movie. take my experience with darkness falls recently...i came out of that and the first thing that came out of my mouth was "god, that sucked"
i guess there are times when it is just the perfect phrase.
then again, sometimes a little reasoning would be nice.
oh i dont know, i am knackered anyway...

Sometimes there's just no other word you can use to describe a film (example: Texas Chainsaw 4, that movie SUCKS).

I like to further embelish the 'sucks' expression w/ vegetables or fruits...like....'That movie sucks cabbages' or 'that song sucks eggplant'... :p
This rant sux!!!!!!! (Kidding Corpse....)

Oh maybe I should read the rules agian I wasn't aware of that rule thanks for alerting me to this.
Also I am not including the schmoes who usualy give a more detailed and in depth opinion just those who use the phrase this sucks or that sucks as the major componant for thier posts.

I'm going to have to agree with jackson13. While most of the time I try to write well-thought-out reviews, sometimes that's just pointless. You're better off just saying it sucks and save ten minutes of your life. Not that "it sucks" is a very profound way of justifying your opinion, it works.
ahh, my post sucks. (sorry, I couldn't resist):D

I'll never use the word "suck" or "sucks" again.
I once told my ex-boyfriend that he sucks, and in return, he says: "No Lindsey, you're the one who sucked  (Ya get it, right?) And that was in front of everybody. Hahaha...
Anyways, I'll never add a two bit comment on the boards saying how the film sucked. You're right, the S-word is crap.

Kid's got wit, gotta give him that. :)
I use "suck" regularly. But it's just an introduction and/or conclusion...there's always constructive criticism before and/or after and/or in-between. As in: "Tom Green sucks. No, really. He sucks." :)

I don't think that using the word "sucks" is neccessarily a bad thing, as long as you back up your statement.
Let's all thank Lindsey for putting that image of her in our minds. :D
