Laputa: Castle in the Sky -Joe Hisaishi
Kikujiro's Summer -Joe Hisaishi

The Usual Suspects...i know this is listed as my favorite film, and the music isn't that well known, but i think this score is one of the most severely underrated...listen to the main piano theme, just dark and creepy, and then the huge cello sweeping parts...wow! -John Ottman
The Truman Show -Philip Glass
The Hours -Philip Glass
Crouching Tiger -Tan Dun
Road to Perdition -Thomas Newman
Schindler's List -John Williams
Catch Me If You Can -John Williams

And i must add a couple tv themes

the Angel theme song -Darling Violetta? i think
The Simpsons -Danny Elfman
and Six Feet Under -Thomas Newman...brilliant brilliant main theme, love it, quirky and all..

Let me put it this way......I coach a competitive, traveling youth baseball team,, my wife is the team "dj" using our portable bose sound system

each and every time our team takes the field (wearing our black uniforms) she plays the imperial march from star wars

you should see the reactions we get from the other teams as well as the umpires...lots of fun!

The single best movie score ever is John William's score for The Empire Strikes Back, or perhaps Jaws. Either way, John Williams is the man!
