This is one of my all time fav scifi/action films from the 80's and one of Carpenter's best. Russell is excellent as Snake Pliskken, along with a great supporting cast and a hip score.
thoughts?

Didn't impress me...in fact, John Carpenter has yet to impress me, even with Halloween (5/10). This incredibly dated movie just struck me as really lame. All the characters were really annoying, especially the "bad guy" Duke. I could pull a better bad guy out of my ass. I especially liked at the end when Snake says "A lot of people died for you today." I'm thinking to myself...5 tops, right?
5/10

I actually liked Escape From L.A. more.
I loved Kurt Russel in N.Y. but the movie just sort of...bored me.

On my hornbag days I wanted to just let Snake Plissken have his way with me. Oh yeah, the movie was damn good to watch also ;)
