3 new movies open wide this following Friday, which ones are you planning to see:

American Outlaws
Rat Race
or Captain Corelli's Mandolin

Which do you think will top the box office? Or will American Pie 2 hang on to the top spot 2 weeks in a row?

I'm going to see Rat Race for sure, and possibly Captain Corelli's Mandolin.

I want to see RAT RACE but I'll probably see it on video. I will also probably catch American Outlaws on video. And I don't want to see Mandolin... As for box office, I think American Pie 2 will still be #1...

I am quite sure American Pie 2 will stay at number 1 in its second week.

I am pretty positive that I will see both Rat Race and Captain Correlli's Mandolin but I refuse to ever see that crap American Outlaws.

I am going to see "Captain Corelli's Mandolin". Nicolas Cage is cool. I might see "American Outlaws". "Rat Race" is too slapstick.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling that Captain Corelli's Mandolin will earn some Oscars acting nominations, especially for Penelope Cruz.

I saw Rat Race on Saturday for the sneak preview instead of others or Pie 2. The movie was very good. I was expecting absoulte slapstick, but actually there wasnt that much. But otherwise great movie. 8/10 I recommend it to everyone.
1. Rat Race 52.4 million
2. Captain Cornellis Mandolin 30 million
3. American Pie 2 21 million
4. Rush Hour 2 19 million
5. American Outlaws 11 million

Well I am going to be seeing American Outlaws...because I got free passes for two from Entertainment Weekly...and I'm such a cheap bastard that I can't pass up any form of entertainment if it's free...which I'm guessing will lead to some very disasterous experiences when I head out into the real world and start thinking that lunatics muttering to themselves are some sort of street performer. But if I had a choice...I would have to aim toward Captain Corelli's Mandolin...but that's not even looking like it's going to be worth seeing.

Rat Race, I have high hopes for it, and hopefully it will succeed. As for Captain Corelli, it looks like another predictable romance movie. American Outlaws? Well, they just don't make westerns like they used to. I'd rather sit through another viewing of a classic like The Wild Bunch than pay to see a PG13 western that doesn't even look good.

Rat Race looks funny and it has like an all-star cast.

Here is my view of the top 5:

1. American Pie 2 22 million
2. The Others 19 million
3. Rush Hour 2 17 million
4. Captain Coreli's Mandolin 15 million
5. American Outlaws 14 million

I predict "Rat Race" will land in 8th place with 5 million. "Osmosis Jones" will probably drop 65% like "Final Fantasy".

I'll see Rat Race, but if Session 9 opens here, then I'm seeing that.

I think American Outlaws is the most enticing of those three. I will definetly see it.

There hasn't been a film (for 10 weeks) that has been number 1 for two weeks in a row, but I think American Pie 2 will end that streak with about $25 million. But it will have close competition with American Outlaws.

For my predictions, go here: /ubb/Forum1/HTML/000561-2.html

I'm going to a sneak preview of CAPTAIN CORELLI'S MANDOLIN tonight. I'm not enthused about it, but, hey, it's free. I'm not going back to see the rest of RAT RACE. I might check out AMERICAN OUTLAWS because of Colin Farrell, but I'm not really a fan of Westerns.

Being the loyal Nic Cage fan that I am, I will have to go see Capt. Corelli's Mandolin first and then American Outlaws, but Rat Race looks a bit iffy.

I am a sucker for a good old fashioned WWII/love story so I will definately see Captain Corelli's Mandolin. So far it has actually gotten pretty good reviews so far. As for Rat Race it looks so-so but I'll probably see it anyway. American Outlaws doesn't look great, but it does look kinda of fun so I'll see that too if I can get the money. But I will definately see Captain Corelli's Mandolin.

Rat Race is terrible. Captain Corelli's Mandolin looks great but is too long and Cage is awful. American Outlaws is entertaining fluff.

Did you already see all three of them somehow? Or are you just going by how they look? I was wondering because you said Captain Corelli's Mandolin was too long but it is only a little over 2 hours. Pretty short when most of the war movies I have ever seen have around 3 hours.

From the clips and trailers, I think Cap. C's Mandolin contains a few accents that might be confusing... I just don't want to see another movie like "The Body" where I must pay close attention trying to figure out what the characters are actually saying /ubb/frown.gif

Saw CAPTAIN CORELLI'S MANDOLIN. Overwritten, overacted, overproduced. In other words, mildly diverting.

Rat Race, American Outlaws and Nick Cage's movie all look insanely stupid.
