Couldn't find any box art or specs.

I would be jumping for joy-joy, but apparently MGM is releasing it only...FULL SCREEN! Aargh. I've already got it pan-and-scan - on VHS, from HBO Video.

I already sent an email to MGM to voice my complaint, but what good will it do?

Fucking idiots. This is one of my favorite movies. The last twenty minutes are gut-wrenching and the closing moments are absolutely devastating. It deserves the full special edition treatment and is ripe for rediscovery. A lost classic.

i bought the dvd despite the full screen because i want to see the movie and it was cheap. the rumor ive heard though, is that its open matte, not cropped pan and scan.

I hope so. I tried looking up its OAR, but couldn't find it anywhere online.

Still, shouldn't MGM have made it a flipper, like Return of the Living Dead?

Not that anyone cares, but I wrote to MGM questioning its decision to not provide a widescreen version. Today (weeks later) I received the expected generic kiss off:
