Hey gang

I purposely put this here instead of the 'Music' board because there`s more chance of horror fans seeing it here.

Anyways, for no particular reason, I thought I`d list some obscure genre soundtracks I own.
If anyone wants a copy of something (because most of them are hard to find/out-of-print), I`ll see what I can do.
Most of them are horror, a few are not.

-"Gremlins" (cassette)
Side A is pop songs (Michael Sembello, Peter Gabriel) Side B is some of the Jerry Goldsmith score (but not all of it, dammit!)
I think there was another soundtrack that was all score.

-"Gremlins 2: The New Batch" (cassette)
All score.

-"Friday the 13th, Part 3" (and other stuff) (cassette - dubbed copy)
Side A has the "Friday 3" soundtrack. Aside from the infamous 'disco theme', it`s almost unbearable to listen to by itself.
Side B has cuts from various cult movies, including "Creepshow", "The Evil Dead", "Forbidden Zone" (old Oingo Boingo song!), "Brainstorm", "Videodrone", and an old "Twilight Zone" episode (the one with the mini-astronauts raiding the lady`s house).

-"Phantasm/Phantasm II" (dubbed CD)
The whole score to Part 1 (awesome!), and four tracks from Part 2.

-"Suspiria" (CD)
This came with the special edition DVD. Pretty good, but a lot of the music wasn`t even in the movie! Also, no track listing.

-"Poltergiest" (vinyl)

-"Poltergeist II: The Other Side" (dubbed cassette)

-"Return To Oz" (CD)
All score, and EXELLENT.

-"Howard The Duck" (vinyl)
Side A is Thomas Dolby songs, and songs by Lea Thompson`s band 'Cherry Bomb' from the movie.
Side B is the John Barry score (not all of it), which is strikingly similar to his Oscar-winning "Dances With Wolves" score (I shit you not!)

-"The Goonies" (vinyl)
All 80`s pop tunes, mostly all forgettable, except of course for the timeless Cyndi Lauper theme song! There is exactly ONE score track at the very end, and it`s not the same as in the movie.

-"Popeye: The Movie" (vinyl)
That`s right, the Robin Williams/Shelly Duvall musical!
For anyone who cares, the songs are not the same as in the movie (they sound more 'polished') and there`s one song NOT in the movie.

I`m sure there`s more, I`ll post if I remember them.
Anyone else out there got any obscure soundtracks?

And finally, does anyone know how to get these two:
-"The Goonies" score by Dave Grusin. It was never officially released (dammit!), but I know a promo bootleg is out there somewhere.
-The original "Heavy Metal" score by Elmer Bernstein. It was officially released when the movie was released (1981?), but it`s looong out-of-print.

Ah, soundtracks (and more specifically, scores). A subject close to my heart.

I tend to download soundtracks from Kazaa (I know, I know, but it's nearly impossible to find good ones for a reasonable price).

I do however own:

Halloween: 20th Anniversary Edition
Halloween 5
A Nightmare On Elm Street 1 & 2
The Best Of A Nightmare On Elm Street
Exorcist II: The Heretic
Hellraiser: The Chronicles
Session 9

All I have is Phenomena soundtrack by Goblin. It doesn't have the Iron Maiden et al. songs in it, but has different versions of the themes from the movie and a few extra tunes.

Also if just want to know if something exsists soundtrack wise let me know. My husband has been following soundtracks for 20 years. He can tell you if it exsists, how many versions there might be, or if a rare LP has been transfered to CDR, or anything else you may want to know just ask!:p

How is the "Session 9" soundtrack? I`ve always wondered about getting it. I love the 'music' in the movie, but most of it isn`t really 'music' per se, more like ambient moods and such.
