Okay, there's no use complaining about rotten movies, there are waaaaay too many (especially in the summertime) and there isn't much we can do about it.

What gets under my skin is when I see sequels made from these horrible films...

I just saw the trailer for Tomb Raider 2 on T.V. Oh Jesus...

I stand proudly today because I once swore to God that I would never support the abomination which appeared to be BATMAN & ROBIN (after seeing the ultra-crappy trailers) and I am happy to report that I never saw the film once either in the theaters or on video since.

It was terrible. "Judging" a sequel by its predecessor is, in my opinion, entirely fair.

I'm being incredibly honest here, not arguing to defend my cause...I think the trailer is absolutely wretched. The Indiana Jones movies have charisma, they have interesting story lines that follow an understandable theme. Does the search for Pandora's Box not strongly remind you of the Indiana Jones movies? A search for a much sought after, some say mythical, treasure...no one's survived looking for it before...yadda yadda yadda. Indiana Jones was fresh, while this does not seem at all fresh or interesting to me. I could be entirely wrong on this one, but, I really have no desire to go.

I'm sorry, but the very basics of the plot sound unoriginal and the trailers make the movie look hokey. So, I'm taking up Indiana's cause...I suppose "Us People" just don't get why we can't form an opinion based on many different factors :rolleyes:

Only came in here, because of promises of punch & pie! In theory I agree with your protest...I mean who besides Roger Ebert was really clamoring for a Tomb Raider sequel(but it looks kinda ok)...already this summer I have avoided Dumb and Dumberer, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Legally Blonde 2 and Bad Boys II and you can count me out on Spy Kids 3-Crap. I plan on catching most of them on video though. If nothing else was coming out that looked good this week, I would go see Tomb Raider 2, but since Seabiscuit looks great and I can't wait to see it, I'll see that instead!

Tomb Raider 2 came in at 4th in the weekend box office with only $21.8 million...Way under half of the original's opening weekend gross. Seems like the people really are coming around and not seeing this shite...It probably won't make much over $60 million, and we should be spared from a third part.
