Nothing really really scary has ever happened to me, that's why I love horror movies so much. There are two kinda scary things though:
I guess the scariest thing that ever happened was one night, while I was up late watching t.v. I heard a noise come from the front porch. I got up and went into the front room. We have a window that looks directly onto the porch from the side. I peaked out of the blinds and saw nothing, so I went back to watching t.v. I heard the noise again, so this time I got up, turned on the front porch light and opened the door (not the screen door mind you) and there was some creepy ass dude standing almost right on my front steps. He turned and stared at me for a second, then took off running. Scared me pretty badly, but in retrospect, it really wasn't that bad, could've been a lot worse. I called the cops, they came, said I scared him off... the last time anything like that ever happened.
I was also followed once in my car. It was nighttime of course, so I couldn't see the persons face who was following me from the rear view mirror. They followed me for probably a good twenty minutes. I was driving around different neighbourhoods and they made every turn I did, even into and out of a culdesac. I don't even remember what tipped me off as to why I thought I was being followed... anywho... never saw the car again.
Either one of those, or my dog sneaking up behind me while I was in the laundry room and barking when I turned the dryer on. I jumped probably ten feet in the fucking air!!! :D

A few months ago I was watching Jay Leno and I heard a knocking at my door so I got up and checked who it was, it turned out to be my sister's boyfriend who didn't have a key so I opened the door without even thinking about it. Then he came in and it wasn't him, it was someone else who kind of looked like him.I just stood there or the longest time, it felt like hours, then I started to say something and he ran out of my house. I bolted the door shut and ran upstairs, then I heard the knocking again, I just ignored it and fell asleep. The next morning I saw him sleeping on the sidewalk on the corner of my street.... He was really drunk or something.

Me and my friend had been on a bike ride and were riding back home through the woods. It was starting to get dark (twilightish) and we were riding down our usual trail, when out of the corner of my eye i saw the body of a woman propped up against a tree with no head or arms. Turns out it was just an old shop mannequin, freaked me out though.

1. One time, about 1 A.M., me and my friend were outside near the street. He was on the phone talking to one of his friends while I was skateboarding up and down the road. I seen some headlights pull out of a driveway, and got to the curb next to him. The car started going to a slow putt, and I looked at my friend, who suddenly looked back at me. He said, "Drive by, get down." So we hid in the drainpipe. They stopped, and screamed "You dumbass bitches want to buy some weed? Get in the fucking car! " We stayed in the drainpipe. We heard a door slam and a gun shot, and we stayed in the pipe. Then we heard a woman's vocie, saying, "Come on, honey, get back in the car. Leave the kids alone! " He got in the car and drove in reverse down the street. After he was gone, me and my friend ran into his house.
2. I was at my Grandparent's house in the woods. It was getting late, and I was sitting back watching TV and playing my old SNES. I heard a huge boom from outside, and light shot everywhere. I took a look outside and there was a figure standing out there. I turned off the SNES, locked the doors, turned off the lights, and hoped into my floor bed and pulled the covers over my body and head. I watched Comedy Central and dozed off.

Now THAT is some scary shite. Sounds like we have a pretty similar house set-up (i can see into my porch from my lounge side window). I always imagine scary crap like that, like a while back rest of my family went on a weeks holiday and at about midnight watching tv i heard crunching on my gravel path. A couple of minutes later i heard a bang on both my lounge windows, as if someone was walking past and then a bang on my front door. Needless to say i was pretty shit scared at this point, and i heard scraping on the paving out the front of my house like it was going around to the back. I sat in my lounge with the volume on mute for about an hour, but heard no noise. Eventually when i was about to piss myself i forced myself to go up to bed, turning on and off lights as i went. To get up my stairs i had to turn on the light at the top of my stairs and then turn off the downstairs landing light, so i slowly sneaked up my stairs, still being as quiet as possible. I got up my stairs, and turned off the light as i turned on the light just around the corner on my my landing. Then i out the corner of my eye saw someone crouching down right next to me at the top of my stairs. For a second i was like a rabbit in headlamps- after jumping out my skin. Then i realised it was the dirty laundry box we have! Needless to say i got almost no sleep that night, and every creak i heard was imagined into someone walking upstairs to come and kill me!
That had to be the most scared (nope, terrified) i have ever been in my life.

My scariest experience was with a Ouiji board, and I can tell you, it was real experience, not a fake one.
I was over at my friends house for a sleepover and, we used the ouiji board. I had never used one before, and knew very well that they were Satanic and/or fake, but I tried for the heck of it. It seemed fun at first, asking a bunch of stupid and insignifigant questions, but there were some unual instances.
It should be said, I was/am a strong believer in God, so I tried not to take it seriously; my friend wasn't really as religious as me, so he totally went and believed it. I also was curious to see what the Ouiji board was like, so that is the only reason the ouiji board worked with me.
Anyway, there were some intances, where after asking some stupid/insignifigant stuff, the ouiji board would respond suspiciously towards me as if warning me not to go too deep in my questioning. It was as it knew that I was totally on God's side. Well, later on, my friend asked questions about his mother (he never knew his mother; he lived with his grandmother, and she, not having not good terms with his mother/her daughter, never spoke about her). Well, I joined along and asked some questions about his mother, seeing if it could really tell us, and finally it got sick of me and respond to me with these letters: G E T O U T.
Thing was, his grandmother told my mother about what was up with his mother, and my mom told me, so I was the only there who knew the truth. My friend was asking the ouiji board all sorts of questions about his mother, and it kept feeding him lies, lies, and lies about about her. I knew, because, what my mom told me about his mother was no where as close to what the ouiji board was saying. Well, the Ouiji board said. There was a clue early on, when it responded to me with these letters; I K N O W Y O U K N O W.
Anyway, after it is "GET OUT" reply, we let the Ouiji board take a "breather" and that is when I finally told him the truth about his mother. He was thankful and relieved that I told him, and we went back to face the Ouiji board for a rematch.
We first questioned the ouiji board out of fun to see how it would respond to the usual questions we had been asking before, and it kept on lying, lying, and lying. Then, we both asked it seriously what was up, and it slowly got steamed at us. While we kept doing this, I saw that my friend was getting manipulated by it agian, so I had to keep reminding him. It got to a point where we demanded it to admit it was lying. And, it did. At one point, it admitted it was replying bullcrap all along...then, immediately after that, it denied ever admitting it had lied. Now, the ouiji board was steamed. It kept threatening us, and eventually said it would send a demon or something, and that demon would come to us at a certain deadline in a couple of hours. It was nighttime that we were doing this, and we were freaked out.
I swear all that I've told you is true. I am not making this up. It seems silly to read all this, but it really did happen. If you were there, you'd understand. I was there, and it was freaky. The whole time, we felt pricklings and light scratchings on the back of our necks, arms, and shoulders, and it was weird. But, there's more story to tell. Oh, and I can't forget to tell you: the ouiji board admitted it was the devil responding, not just some demon. It could have been a demon saying it was a the devil/Satan, but it was still freaky and scary.
Anyway, after the ouiji told us our deadline, we left the it alone. We felt scared and didn't know what to do. At first, we just started reading books. I eventually started writing about the before-mentioned events on paper, so that if something happened to one of us, or both, the world would know that it was unnatural. I know that sounds silly, but you had to be there to understand. Anyway, when there was like 20-30 minutes left before the deadline, we got some bibles, and just started reading important bible verses and psalms, in hopes that they could possibly protect us.
I know, it sounds dumb, but there was an intensity about all of it that got us scared every minute of the deadline as if some demon was really coming. You had to be there.
A few minutes before the deadline, we gave up. We responded to the ouiji borad/Devil/Satan, and told it was right all along and we wrong (we were lying of course), in hopes of saving our butts. It bought it, and we all just chilled.
At this point, we were curious about this demonic replyer and asked if we could see it. We wanted to see some sort of sign that all of this was real. At several instances, it would not show itself when it should of. The ouiji board's defense: it was shy. So, all that could have been bullshit, for all we knew.
It wasn't bullshit, though. It got to a point where my friend had the nerve to walk out to the dark living room and see the being there. He did. What he told me he saw was some sort of outline and voice. He knew it was real, he saw enough of it and heard it. My friend wouldn't make stuff up like. He would never mindfuck me. So, I knew it was true. It was then my turn to go to the living room and see and hear the being, but I was too scared. the ouiji board understood, and we were tired, so we finally went to bed.
The following morning, I was set and pumped up enough to see. I was going to see it in a dark corner of the basement. I was ready to walk into the darkness...when my parents came to pick me up! I was screwed. I was stolen the possible chance to see and hear some sort of poltergeist. Since then (2 to 3 years ago), I've been yearning to see that being whatever it was.
Come to think of it, you could say that this ouiji board experience (which was true, I am not making up bullshit here) was like "The Blair Witch Project" - I had been through a series of creepy and scary instances, but I never got to see the Blair witch.

When I was in 2nd grade, I had to stay after skool..I was dead tired on my way to out
the doors we were having in skool, had crystal clear glass, but the glass was really thin, the doors were basically just glass with frames...yeah they were also very tall
so I thought the door was open, and bumped my head into that piece of cheap fuckin shit. And the glass started to come down in these huge chunks..but magically they all missed me..

Aw dude, I feel your pain!! That's happened to me on more than one occasion (with the same object actually...:o ) My old bedroom is down the hallway, on the right side, there's the bathroom, and then my parents room. On the left is the computer room, and then my room. My room is slightly further down the hall than my parents. My parents have one of those big wide dressers that has a huge mirror on top of it, that is visible while walking down the hallway if you look into their room. In front of that mirror is a coat rack (the old fashioned ones, kinda like in All in the Family) and at least ten times I thought somebody was standing in the room watching me as I walked down the hall.
Not to mention that my parents bathroom is also visible while looking into the mirror, and the towels hanging on the wall have more than once looked like some creepy fucked up person watching me!!
I totally feel your pain!!!

For more common instances, a lot of shit happens in the bathroom. Obviously, after you've seen a horror movie, have thought of a horror movie, etc., you get yourself scared entering the bathroom and eventually thinking someone's watching you. And sometimes, just by thinking that someone might be watching you, you literally start thinking that you are being watched. But, at times, where I'm not even thinking of horror movies, haven't seen a horror movie recently, and am not thinking of anything scary, out of nowhere, I feel as if I'm being watched. And worse, when I'm in the shower, and have hot water running, out of nowhere, I'll feel a cold presence behind me, and again that tends to happen when I haven't seen a horror movie recently, or haven't thought of a horror movie recently. It gets me freaks me out, leading me to turn around constantly thinking someone's there. And you can't look in one direction for like 5 seconds, because you think some has moved behind. I hate it when shit like that happens!
Actually, I kind of like it. I just wish those ghosts, if they really are ghost keeping out of sight me, would do it in less circumstantial situations. After missing out on seeing a ghost (check my long "Ouiji Board" post a few posts up), I want to see one. And, if I saw it, I'd try not to freak out, not to run out of the room, but to stay in the room, stay calm, and talk to it, and find out why it's there, if it wants help, like in finding out his murderer or something, and exposing that murderer and where his body is hidden or something. Then again, I've probably seen too many movies! But, it would be cool to be involved in a supernatural situation like that.

I'd have to say the scariest thing that has ever happened to me was just recently while I was on a FTX with my unit in West Virginia. I was out on patrol with my friend Pete, and the area we were on patrol was really secluded and a dense forest. So it was very dark to say the least, and while you are out on patrol, you arent supposed to use any light source or else you're just giving yourself away to the enemy(cause it's supposed to be a real life simulation). Anyway. while we were pretty deep into the woods, the only thing we could hear was an occasional wind gust, and maybe a cricket here and there. Now, after a couple minutes, Pete said he heard something, so we both drew our rifles, and took immediate cover. Pete got up and decided he was gonna go down the wooded area a bit, and I was his cover in case anyone tried to attack us. Like a perfect horror situation, Pete went running after the noise after he heard it again, and sure enough, I lost him in the darkness. Luckily, I picked the right direction, and I saw a figure standing about 10 feet away. I said Pete's name, and whoever or whatever this was, turned toward me, and let out the oddest noise I've ever heard. Then as I looked down, I saw a figure laying on the ground, and something just told me that it was Pete. So, I opened fire from my M-16, which only has blanks, but makes the same burst sound that a machine gun does. I ran up to Pete, and I rolled him onto his back, and I quickly found out he was unconscious and bleeding from his head. Whoever it was, must have smashed his head really hard. I woke him up forunately, but he was too delirious to walk by himself, so, I had to pretty much carry him back to our base camp in these woods in the pitch black. I have never been so petrified in my life. It was something about walking someone that had no idea what was going on, and being completely defenseless in case whatever it was came back. It was just so eerie being like that, and paranoia kicked in cause I could have sworn I kept hearing that same noise from before every 20 feet. But we made it back and Pete had a concussion, and I'm damn glad whatever or whoever that was didn't come back for us again, or else we would have both been in some serious trouble.
I know this damn thing is long, but I kinda had to make it liek this to expalin it properly. Sorry if it pissed anyone off!

Shit dude,I was just about to take a shower! Every time I am in the bathroom I think of that hag from THE SHINING which reminds me of Zelda from PET SEMATARY who makes me think of Katies corpse in THE RING,and so on. Damn,I'm scaring myself...I just heard a noise. Anyway,my scariest experience would be that time where I was under a bridge, looked up and saw something that looked like a goat head looking down at me.

As a teenager I was addicted to the ouija board and played on it for years. Some very freaky things occured, although I dont seem to be bothered by much, lol, so nothing bothered me overall, more like excited me. I no longer play, but I know for absolute fact all occurences were real, and we were really speaking to someone, AND it wasn't anyones subconscious. How do I know? Many ways. My cousins came down and I had them use the board, I told them nothing beforehand about occruences, names, whatever. I stayed off the board for the time being and they spoke on it, and the same spirit came with the same names he used, the same everything. They knew none of this, and like I said, I wasnt playing. Other ways that make it obvious someone else was really there too. Many things happened over different times. Now I consider the ouija board a not-wise idea and tend to stay away, although I admit the idea is fascinating to me. Too bad I had to withdraw : ( but it's for the best.

I went out for a walk like I always do about midnight or so and I saw a guy jerking off on the virgin mary in front of the catholic church and he started to follow me, I whipped out me knife and ran at him and he ran away. Another thing that happened was my friends dared me to try to summon Satan using an old Necronomicon I picked up at a occult book store and a bunch of already dead cats which you can also buy at the occult store. Well i've never backed down from a dare so i went to the cemetary, used the cats to make a pentagram, by the way this was about a week later because you aren't suppose to eat meat, then you arent suppose to drink anything other than water. I did it for a week and I used the cats to form a pentagram finished reading the page and I blanked out. I was seeing shit and then I passed out. The groundsman found me with a tatoo on my under arm, right next to my armpit of a pentagram. I was half naked and I was in a daze for a couple days, even went to the state hospital because my parents thought I went crazy. When I came to I was like what the fuck happened. I still don't remember.

The scariest moment of my life happened on August 15, 2000. I'll remember this day FOREVER! It was on this day my grandfather passed away. He died of a massive stroke and after being pronounced dead we were allowed to go see him. I sat down beside him and my mother was on his other side, all was quiet. Then he moaned opened his eyes and moved his hand! This after being dead for over 10 minutes! I screamed as did my mom and a doctor and nurse came running in and examined him. He was again pronounced dead. At his funeral I stayed miles away from his coffin. I rarely go to his grave. It freaked me out bad:eek:

Yeah, i was very seriously thinking of calling for the police but i thought it would be kind of wimpy to call them out for (what was probably) nothing. Saying that, if there had been some crazy mofo out there...
A little while back i realised that when its night, its almost impossible to see anything outside form in your house, but when you're outside its easy to see into the house/room whatever. I always creep myself out thinking that as i turn away from my computer and look at the window behind me there will be someone standing there.

When I was in 6th grade, there was this kidnapper going around the triangle kidnapping and murdering 12 year old girls. Well, I was at Bond Park (in NC) with two of my friends where we got into a fight. I stormed off towards the lake where I ran into this white truck with no Town of Cary symbol on it. I knew something was wrong right away and began to walk back to my friends. The guy got out of the truck and walked after me. When I sped up, he sped up. When I started to run, he started to run. He grabbed a hold of the back of my shirt but I wriggled my way free and my adrenaline made me run faster than him. I got to my friends with hm trailing behind about 100ft. I grabbed ahold of the collars of their shitrts and pulled them out of sitting position where they were frozen and made them run. When we ran down the hill toward the wood that held the path to my house, he followed with a hatchet in his left hand. We got to my house where my idiot brothers forced me to leave without listening to the story and ran to one of the others houses. On the way there, we ran into the same white truck that was circling the neighborhood looking for us. We ducked behind bushes to avoid being seen until he passed. When he did, we ran to my friends house and called the cops. A week later my friend was watching the news while I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth. She screamed for me to come and see the TV. When I walked in, there was the guys face on the news. Someone else had gotten away and was able to give them a clear drawing of the man. Im not sure if he was ever caught. The police never contacted me about anything. The cops around here are pretty incompetant. I would like to know if he was or not so I can be there when he frys.

Also, in NY, my house was haunted. I had this ghost of a man standing at the end of my bed everynight. It scared the crap out of me. He was really tall, almost as if he would have to duck to get in the doorway. He was younger looking, maybe in his 20's. He wore one of those nice hats the guys wore in the 50's and a nice gray suit. He would always just stand there and stare at me everynight. It was hard for me to sleep at night until I realized that he wasnt going to hurt me and I just slipped down to the bottom bunk and slept with my sister. My bunkbeds were short by the way.
My friend Alex and I would go to the house down the street that was also haunted and there was an old school desk in the backyard. Everyday there was something new in there for us, whether it was old toys, old stickers, or old candy. There was always something there. We always just left everything there. After a while, things stopped showing up. But when I went back a few years ago, I checked that damn desk to see if it was still happening. Sure enough, there was an old set of stickers with teddy bears on them. It was scary.
Another one was when my friend and I went to this abandoned house buried in the woods behind the neighborhood across the parkway. The house was small and yellow. When we went inside, we went into this little girls room that had this sign that said "God Bless My Room". The walls were pink but the floor and walls were splattered with blood stains. It scared the crap out of us. We hauled ass out of there and ran into this old boxcar that was in these really high weeds. We went inside and it was filled with boxes of old books. I found this old yearbook and took it home with me. I found this guy that looked like and had the same last name as one of my friends at school. She took the yearbook home to ask her parents about it and it turned out to be her dads father that he never got to meet. Needless to say, I let them keep the yearbook.
I have a lot of weird crap happen to me. I think Im unlucky like that.

It was the summer of... 1999 I think, and I was going to meet my friends. It was around 10:30 - 11:00 pm. I decided to take a shortcut through this park. Its kinda scary looking at night and there's practically no streetlights around. Anyway, the wind started to blow and I was standing right next to a school for kids with mental disabilities and an old house where these nuns are (kind of a monastery I guess). I remember looking at the entrance to the park and tall cypress trees in the wind. Beyond them was darkness. There was a strange squeeling noise coming from an old open window at this house/monastery. I went on walking, thinking how I would be scared shitless as a child here, coz I was pretty scared of the dark when a kid. Just before entering the park, walking pass the school for kids with special needs, I looked up at a small balcony of the school. I saw a small girl (probably around 3 years old) just standing there, looking at me. I remember it like it was yesterday. She was a pretty child with dark hair to her shoulders that was a bit messes up by the wind. At that moment I just acknowledged here and continue walking until it hit me how the school building is empty and closed and I havent seen anyone on the street for at least 15 minutes. I looked back and she was gone. No one else was around. I just continued walking and didn't really think about it until later. It's possible I made a mistake and saw a shadow or something... but I dont think so. I saw her so clearly I simply can't explain it. It was an interesting experience...

The scariest things happen to me in the countryside of Oklahoma.
Once, my cousin, his girlfriend, my mom and I drove to a real Indian burial ground site called "Beaver Gap" on Easter night. We kept driving over these small bridges until we came up to this huge blanket of fog. For all we knew, there could've been some wierd ritual happening there that night or something, but that fog warned us to turn back. Before we decided to leave, I glimpsed a figure on the outside behind the car.
When I returned in the summer, I went on the front porch of my cousin's house with him at 11 pm. We were talking and I was looking out into the woods, which were next door to us. What I saw looked like a Bigfoot just walking through. It had to be at least a hundred feet away. At that point, I told me cousin that we outta go back inside.
There was an incident which occured at the first apartment I lived in. I was sleeping, but woke up around 1 am. The clock on my dresser just started to shake and move across the surface. I was scared stiff. I started praying to God and the clock stopped.
I should mention that both my mom's and dad's sides of the family have had a long history with the supernatural. I have heard some really scary shit from both sides, too.
This is kinda weird and it happened only yesterday (June 11th)...
Apparently, at around 10 or 11 yesterday morning, some guys in a white truck pulled up by my fence and were looking into my backyard. Who knows what would've happened if my neighbor from across the street hadn't noticed them and scared them away with a pool cue.
It's not really SCARY scary but it's still a little disturbing, especially when you think about what could have occured had the day not gone like that. As an example, if yesterday had been the day before yesterday, I would have been home. And what if my neighbor hadn't been home or what if he hadn't noticed the suspicious-looking guys glancing into my backyard?
Needless to say, I slept with my baseball bat all night, just in case.

There was this other time when I babysat my aunt's friend's St. Bernard (Cara) one Saturday night two years ago.
The man who owns the dog lives in a condo on the 10th floor and his unit faces east, towards Lake Michigan. I was on the computer and Cara was asleep in her little room, which faces east. She makes this distinctive sound when she walks on the floor and it sounds like clicking. I heard this clicking sound coming towards the room I was in and turned around to greet her. She wasn't there; she was still in her room sleeping. I thought "Who was walking around then?" At 10:30 pm, I was coming out of the room and then Cara darted up and started barking frantically at "something." She ran out of her room and came to me. I took her for a short walk and when we came back, she didn't go to her room. She went and laid down in her owner's dark bedroom. Something in her room freaked her out. It also could've been something on the other side of the window. I was freaked so I slept in the living room, where I was able to see everything. Cara came and slept on the couch next to me. I wanted to make sure nothing could sneak behind me!

No offense to YOU Duke, but this was one of the stupidest fuckin stories I have ever read... hehe...

No offense, but simply saying something as far-fetched and drawn out as that happened is just not good enough proof...
Hmmm..well, nothing TERRIFYING has ever really happened to me, but there was one incident where me and my friend were outside his house around 10:30 or 11. The house across the street was surrounded by a little wooded areas, and it was pretty dark at the time (head lights gave some reflective light, though..). So anyways, we were doing whatever when we saw an outline of somebody sprinting behind the house across the street, and then came sounds of screams and lots of yelling, and then a loud sound of glass breaking. It was pretty nerve racking, so we just went inside..
On a different note, im about to move into a house thats in the middle of NOWHERE, its on my stepdads some-odd acres of land....lots of trees...not looking forward to being home alone at night.

This is a thread concerning our scariest experiences, isn't it? Why is it that my scary experience isn't real? I only kept reminding in the long post, that it was real/not fake, because I knew it sounded far-fetched. That doesn't mean that it was far-fetched. But, I can assure all of you that what I wrote really happened.
SpaceMutt07

Well who am I to judge, I guess...if it happened it happened. You were the one who "experienced" it, so if you say it's true then theres no proving that you are right or wrong.
Sorry Duke Nukem!

But just one question...how exactly did you know that you were going to see this apparition in a dark place in advance? It makes sense to me that your friend saw it on the actual day that all this was happening supposedly, but how did you know for sure that any dark place on any day would let you see this thing?
Duke Nukem
06-12-2003, 10:32 PM
Because, when we were asking the demon through the ouiji board if we could see it in person individually, it responded in telling us to meet at a particular place in the house. We both planned to see that night after all that before-mentioned scary shit to see if all was real. My friend went to the intend place in his living room, and and saw the demons outline and heard its silent voice. I didn't have the balls to go through when my turn was up, but I did on the following morning. The demon told me through ouiji board to meet it in a dark corner in the basement, and I went down in the basement ready to go in the dark corner when...my parents suddenly came at the absolute worst timing!

I had a nasty experence here it is:
I am an epileptic and at this time I have good medication and it is as controlled as it is going to get I only have around five fits a year where as I used to get about three or four a month.
When I was sixteen and I was still trying to sort out medication that would help me I had a horrible time one sunny afternoon.
I was alone in the house my parents had gone out and were not due back for a good few hours.
Well about two hours after they left the house I found myself lying on my back vison blurred and filled with an hysteical fear.
I knew I had an epileptic seiuze because I couldn't walk couldn't even think I could barely talk.
I had nearly biten my tounge in half due to the fact my theeth had shut down like a clamp and I was convinced I was going to die.
For the next hour I stumbled around the house unawre of where I was,who I was or what was happening.
All I did was shout I don't want to die over and over agian the other thing that I seem to recall was the taste of blood in my mouth and the sickness in my stomach.
I must have calmed down a little toward the end because I started to reckonise my surroundings but that's when I started to cry with relief I then threw up.
As soon as I heard the door bell go I limped to the front door and thank god it was my parents.
The underlying horror to this is that I had taken a bath ten minites before my fit if I had taken it ten minites later I could very well be dead.
I never ever want to go througth that agian I hope no one else has to.

One time at a friend's house, we thought to see a ghost. I was about 8 or 9 at the time, and my friend's house was in the form of an old Victorian-style house. Anyway, we all slept together in the living room, some of the couches and some on the floor. About 2 in the morning, only 4 (out of 6) of the other people were awake. We were talking, and suddenly we heard horse footsteps. The four of us got up, and followed the steps upstairs. As we got upstairs, we seen a huge figure on a horse. We freaked, and ran down stairs. That morning, his father told us the house was a stronghold for the Southren Army in Civil War.
A couple years later, all of us were in a tent. A car pulled into his driveway. We heard talking, and they left. We all went inside.

Oh, and Jon Lyrik, I know how you feel! I have a wild imagination when it comes to the supernatural. And, when I'm the only one home, I will fear the darkness around me. I hate when shit like this happens!

Does anyone know whether Ouiji Boards (Like Brands) matter? Must it be an old creepy one, or can it be one of those Parker Bro. ones? I'm facinated by Ouiji Boards, my mom and dad won't let me get one... but I think I will. Most of my friends &/or family are afraid of them, but will play with me. Like I said, they fascinate me, so please give me details on best results and what not.

No, Parker Brother brand Ouiji Boards, or old wooden, creepy ones don't matter. The ouiji board I used was definately a brand one from PB or something. Thing is, it's a ouiji board, designed to contact spirits, not literally by a brand, but I think the supernatural will use any sort of ouiji board by any means to freak out some unforntunate users.

I had a bad experience with a Ouiji Board. My friend (at the time) was staying at my house while my parents were out of town. He was supposed to stay in my sisters room and my sister was going to sleep with me. He wanted me to show him how to use the Ouiji Board and my sister wanted nothing to do with it so we locked ourselves in the room he was staying in and she went to bed. Anyway, we lit a small white candle and put it on my sisters dresser next to us so that we would have some light. So we asked the Quiji tons of questions that it didnt answer. We were about to give up when it finally answered one. We asked where the ghost was if there was one in the house. The response we got was "RIGHT HERE". We looked at eachother, blaming eachother for moving the planchette when the candle blew out. Then there was knocking on the wall behind us, banging on the windows, banging on the wall in front of us, and then the locked door flew open. No joke. We ran out of the room screaming like 5 year old girls and he ended up sleeping in my room with my sister and I because we were both too scared to go back into that room. My sister was angry at me for a long time after that because she believed that her room was going to be haunted from then on.

I just gotta ask: with all this Ouiji board talk on this thread (that I seemed to have caused, LOL), are there any real good horror movies about/involving ouiji boards? I mean, a real spooky movie that focuses on a group of people using a Ouiji board, and having a lot of scary shit happen to them? I'm not talking about the trashy "Witchcraft" series that mysteriously warrents 11 entries. What about "Witchboard"? And wasn't Arrow working on a film called "Ouiji Board"? I thought I read something about that on his home page a while ago.

Duke Nukem. Have you tried searching Imdb.com (http://Imdb.com) for 'Ouiji Board' movies?
Duke Nukem
06-15-2003, 09:24 PM
I checked it, but I don't think it is right site for such a search. It only looked up movies, whose titles had the words "Ouiji" (which there were none) and "Board" in them. No results. But, I guess, that, generally, there haven't been any or many movies like that, that seriously approach it in a scary way. I've always thought of how it would be cool to make a movie based on my ouiji board experience. I would try to make the characters realistic, have a plot that brought up logical, unpredictable, and scary twists, and generally make it creepy and scary.

Yeah, but they only use them as elements. I'm talking that movie that dealt about a group of people that messed with a ouiji board and had a lot of scary shit happen to them...all in one night. And, also not one that dealt with possession, take-over of the soul, and magical powers...that has been used enough in horror movies. I'm talking about a movie that was simply about a night in which a group of people use a ouiji board, mess with some evil force, and deal with the scary antics of that evil force. I'm sure it can be done.

Everything you just said, Penut, is what I'm thinking. It would be nice to have a creepy, atmospheric, and scary horror/thriller about a frightening night involving a ouiji board and characters (perhaps, College students) that were likable and well-developped, with scary instances that weren't cheap and didn't resort to possession, poltergeists, etc. That would be so cool!

When I was about 15 years old me and a freind were hanging out. I think it was 1 0r 2 in the morning. For some reason I just looked out my bedroom window and I saw a person walking down the street. As I looked closer this person had a long dog like snout and wild hair, like a werewolf. I screamed for my friend to come to the window and make sure I wasn't seeing things. He came to the window and confirmed my sighting. The person turned his head towards us but it was to dark to make out any facial features. We could only make out his form when his head was turned to the sied, not facing us. Needless to say he just kept walking... I was to scared to go outside. The only thing that kept us sane was we just had to beleive that is was some crazy person wearing a mask. SCARY. I still think of this often.

Sounds like a great idea guys! Between the two of you (and with generous help from some of the other talented schmoes) I think you could have a real winner.
One small suggestion on my part, if I may. I would stay away from "college students". It really seems to be overdone. I'd suggest maybe 12-13 year old kids (actually played by 12 - 13 year olds). At this age, you wold be able to avoid the pitfalls that come with the generalized depitions of college students (rampant drug use, sexuality etc), and deal with a small group of kids who end up messing with something that shouldnt have.
Just a suggestion!

12-13 year old boys...makes sense to me. I mean, I started wanting to make a ouiji board movie based my experience, and I was 14-16 when the ouiji board experience happened. It's a matter of getting the right talent for these teen roles. You don't an annoying brat that can't act! it's more of the Haley Joel Osmand (kid from "The Sixth Sense") talent we need.

I also thought of using "college students" before, because they'd at least get to act their age as apposed "acting" as "teenage high school students." But, yeah, even "college students" are getting a bit cliched. I didn't think of that before. 12-16 year old teenagers PLAYED by teenagers is better off.

You know, its funny because I sort of had an experience like that once. I was out with my friend and we were chilling out in the woods smoking a cigarette we had stolen from my brother (yeah, we were young) and she looked over and saw this tall figure that looked like a man covered in fur. Kind of like a sasquatch or something. She freaked out and couldnt talk so she made a few vowel noises and pointed. I yelled at her to shut up and when I turned towards her, I saw it too. We were kind of frozen there for a while. I stared at it for a while trying to convince myself that it was a bear. We finally got up the courage to move and ran home. The two of us talked about it all day trying to figure out a logical explaination for it. We had convinced eachother that it was a joke being played on us by some asshole in a costume and went on with our day. Later that night, we were curled up on the couch sharing a blanket because we were watching Marilyn Manson videos that scared the bejezus out of us when she saw the figure staring at us through the window of the kitchen door. We freaked out and stared at it. I got pissed off and got up and ran to the door. I stood there staring at it through the window and I saw its eyes. I knew those eyes. It was my boyfriend playing a trick on us with his brothers Halloween costume. Needless to say, I broke up with him that night even though we stayed friends. Everytime I played a prank after that, I enlisted him to help.

I feel some how unfortunate no supernatural stuff has happened to me. Scary thing which have happened include:
1, Me my bro and a friend was sleeping in his back garden in a tent watching horror films. During putting up the tent, we convinced ourselves there was a clown with a chainsaw in the bushes and blamed anything strange on "the clown with a chainsaw" It turned into a joke after a while. When ever I sleep round, we always go on a midnight walk. My friend lives out in the styx and everywhere seems deserted. We were walking up a road and we came to a crossroad. We then heard a chainsaw noise we looked at each other shouted an obscenity and ran like hell. It turned out to be a moped which had rolled down the hill then the guy had suddenly revved up, hence making a chainsaw like noise.
2, (most recent) Round my friends again! (damn this guy :D ) We were doing silly challenges. One was to walk across the top of his knackered climbing frame. My bro and another m8 (Darren) did it. My friend (Lee) and i refused. Darren made up chicken jokes for 10 mins afterwards (i ain't going to break my legs! i have sense) I then challenged him to the usual midnight walk. He said "yeah no problem" i was like "fine" we watched Cannibal holocaust at 10PM and it finished about 11:50PM. Time for the walk! We were both issued with a map that Lee had drawn and we had to get clues for example what a certain sign said as for proof we had gone there. We also got a torch (mine was small and crap, Darren got the big one) and a large knife each  (Lees a knife freak) As soon as we walk out the door Darrens says "m8 were you scared by that film?" i replied " not really m8 it was quite shocking though" he then changes the subject quickly. We come to the place when we have to go our separate ways. He then says " your not seriously going on your own?" i reply bluntly " well yeah, Why not?" he says "Its Friday the 13th approaching Midnight, can i come with you?" The poor guy looked terrified, it was Friday the 13th approaching midnight :D So i grudgingly let him. Lee knows i'm a big horror fan and knows i am basically fearless so he gave me the worst route. So we took my route :D It was pitch black and Darrens torch ran out of Batteries 2 mins in he says"We should go back for some batteries" i just coldly reply " i have a torch m8" even though it was very small and running low also. We walk up some dark paths with Darren bitching about unseen noises at one point a moth attacked my head . We come to a thin country lane and the torch didn't have much effect. At this point, he had the torch shining it everywhere! We walked through a area with huge trees on each side. He shone the light into the trees then there was a loud flapping noise and he begins to run leaving me behind. I shout " its only birds!" and he comes back. We note down some signs etc. We then have to walk past the lunatic asylum and take notes from the signs. The freaking alarm starts to sound. It is truly deafinig (sounds like an air raid siren). Basically, this sounds if a person has escaped or suspected to have escaped. Understandably, we walk briskly away from the building. As we walk up the road, we see a shape standing in the middle of the road. I have seen too many horror films and i say to Darren that we should take an alternative route. He stupidly replies "why, are you chicken?" now thats one of the stupidest things he has ever said. He eventually agrees. The guy is still standing there. Darren shines the fuc*ing torch in his face (WHY!) and the shape advances on us. We walk away and take another route and hide in the nearest bush. The shape walks past us and we see some kind of search light on the road. I suspect this guy was a farmer who thought we were messing around in the fields or scaring animals. We are then on the home straight a thin country road, which goes for 2 miles with high hedges on each side. This was quite creepy basically, more unseen noises in the hedges. The searchlight then starts to shine through the hedges! And we hear a vehicle coming and have to dive to the side for it to miss us. The car stops and somebody gets out, I'm sure I saw a knife on the guy. After 2mins of searching he grunts gets back into his car and drives off. We quickly get up and continue walking. On the way home this guy jumps out the bushes in a clown suit and starts shouting at us (WTF!!!!) i almost actually laugh out loud because its so strange. I walk past him and look confused at him he just continues to shout nonsense. Darren had sprinted back to Lees he had had enough i think. I walked the rest of the way and took final notes from the school and the playground. It was quite creepy because it was silent and swings were swinging and hitting each other. Also there are public toilets, which i kept an eye on. I know the kind of stuff that happens in those things. The field is actually haunted so Lee tells me. They're used to be houses built on it but in the Blitz, they were all bombed and many people died. No ghosts seen however. I walk in and i hear Darren talking about how he had walked on his own etc. I roll my eyes and just sit down and watch some T.V. Never did work out who the hell that clown guy was. I was concerned he would follow me to the school. He just stood there. He was in full face paint and everything. He had no weapons ( the main reason i just walked casually past him)
Until the next midnight walk, back to boring life.......

I had a three weird encounters twice with the same 'thing'
Where I live in England, there is an old abandoned tuberculerosis ward that has been boarded up on one side of the park near my house. The new hospital is on the other side. They burnt it out before boarding it up because they were paranoid about infection.
Anyway, one Summer night I was out walking, when I saw someone standing on the roof between two chimmneys, someone tall and dark with no features, like he was cut out of shadow. I blanked out, only to find myself in the grounds of the old building. I walked out, checked again to see he was there. There's no way anyone could get up there. Anyway, he followed my movements as I walked and when I looked back, he had gone.
About six months later I was with a friend of mine and we were walking around a wooded area near the cathedral (again, in my city) when I saw the same figure walking around on the slopes below me, when it suddenly disappeared. My friend who was about twenty feet away yelled suddenly when he discovered a fire - needless to say we were both freaked.
I'd convinced myself that they were both coincidences and that I was fooling myself, when the last time, I was walking alone again near the TB ward during the day when I felt the desire to turn and run home, only to turn round and find the 'thing' standing right behind me.
I've not seen him for a year, but I still worry and NEVER go near that building alone!

I had an experience late 2002! Well, soon I was convinced after the incedent my house was A. Possessed(We've had a few similar incedents before) B. Just haunted! Ok so I was sitting around and my T.V. remote disapeared, which was wierd, I spent nearly 15-20 minutes looking; I looked everywhere, couldn't find it!
After that, I gave up, and went to my cousins house for about two hours, there wasn't anything better to do. I got home and turned on the light to my room, it burned out! I got another light bulb, put it in and it wouldn't work (we fount out it was faulty wiring about 2 days later), anyways... I sat down and turned my T.V. on manually.
It was on 13, but as I went and sat back in my futon it switched to channel 666 (there is no such thing, and we have satelite D-TV)! I was scared to hell, I got up set my bed up to go to bed because I was scared so bad and low-and-begold, my remote was on the dresser BEHIND the futon, how did it change channels, becuase the only people home were my mom and I!
We went through some "Be gone" rituals, and stations of the cross. I slept with my bible and the light on that night, and ever since bought a 14" X 14" cross to put on my wall!! Scary, and similar things have happened! Oh, and it's true, I would not lie about this one... but I think we're good now.

There was this old folks home across the street from my friends house until about a year ago. It was abandoned because the state found out that the orderlies were putting the "bad" old people in a cage in the basement strapped to a chair. No joke. A lot of older people died in that basement and the orderlies would just take their bodies upstairs and made it look like they died in their rooms. At night you could hear cries coming from the place and there were always lights on. We walked over there one night because we wanted to check out the ghosts and as soon as we stepped on the ground across the street, the weather turned cold. Im serious about this. We looked at eachother and smiled with excitement and walked on. We got to the door, which was boarded up and you could hear the cries even louder. We couldnt get in the door, so we crawled into a broken window. All of the furniture and pictures were still there. As we walked down the hallway, the lights behind us would go off one by one. It was really creepy as hell. We wanted to see the basement to see if it was true so we kept walking. When we got to the BASEMENT ACCESS door, we went downstairs. By that time, the only lights on were the ones in the basement. We went down the stairs and it smelled old and musty. I couldnt stop coughing. Sure enough, there was the cage and the chair. They had been left there. We were already creeped out and we had seen the chair so we took off running up the stairs and down the hallway. As we ran down the hallway, all of the lights behind us turned on. We quickly went out of the window and by the time we turned around, the whole place was lit up. It was really scary. They have torn the place down and they are buliding a Baptist Church there. I got a call the other day from the church asking if they could send me information about how its going to be. I politely told them that I was wiccan and that was that. Now Im a haunted house chaser. I want to go to every one that I can find. :)

i had to think a little bit on this one...there's been alotta crap that's happened in my house (a couple people have called a gateway to hell). this one night when i was about 9, i was laying in my bed watching tv trying to get to sleep, and i looked at my door (from the bed looking at the door you can see a tiny bit of the hall) there was this face looking at me, i can't even really describe it because it just looked like someone poking their head in to check on me. i looked back at the tv for a second and then back and it was gone.
another time, when i was really little i was at VA beach with my mom and i was playing on the shore in the wet sand with my cuzin's toys. next thing i know my mom's tryin to pick me up and grab the toys and run from the water and when i looked back there was this massive wave (to me bein little, it looked like a tidal wave) that crashed right down on us. scared me so bad cuz i was held under water and couldn't get out and my mom couldn't get me up.
this was a dream, but i think it scared me more than anything. back when i was younger and my mom would go out on friday nights she insisted that i sleep on the couch (she's afraid the house'll burn down) and in my dream i had been sleeping on the couch and i woke up and looked at the window facing the neighbors house. staring back at me was the dad next door, he was dressed in his overalls that made him look like a redneck, but there absolutely no expression on his face at all, he just stared. i was screaming my head off, but it was like the dream was on mute, i couldn't hear anything.
now for my last one (serry bout the long post)
last year there was a hospital that they were gonna tear down, they had pretty much gutted it first, but didn't take everything out so me and a couple friends were planning on going in there some night to see what there was to take (fred got the last morgue door lol). we waited till 11 before we left and took the back river road there, talking about how scary it'd be if the creeper from jeepers creepers were on top of the car and as we got the curve, we see an all white figure come running towards us. we're all screaming and fred (who's driving) nearly puts us in a ditch and i look back and it's a little kid mooning us. now as if that didn't scare us enough, when we finally got to the hospital and were inside on the 3rd or 4th floor, one of the flashlights starts to die. as we made it up the stairs, we had to go with no lights b/c we were near windows, we got the floor and looked to the left and saw what we thought was an outline of a person, yeah, we about shit ourselves, but turns out it was only a hanging light fixture. before we left we went as far was could around the hospital and ended up around the front entrance and got lost. that's when we heard a clicking sound. so here we were, me and alex holding each other and me shoving my head in fred's back as he leads us with the only flashlight we have and half a toilet seat in the backpack, and there's a clicking sound from somewhere in this hospital. i'm sure that we were the only ones in there, if there had been someone else we would've ran into them. we never did find out what the noise was, we got scared and ran through hallways until we found our way out.

this isnt as scary as it is stupid, but when I was little, I used to stare up at my popcorn ceiling and see faces made out of the little bumpies. It always creeped the shit out of me because it was like all of these faces staring at me at night. Im 19 now and I still get the wiggins when I look at the ceiling.

Something really weird happened to me when I was a kid. I woke up in the night to drink a glass of water, I went to the kitchen, drink my water and return to my bedroom. When I open the door I see what it looked like a ghostly figure of a woman in a 19th century long dress standing in front of my bed. The weirdest thing is that for some reason I wasn't scared at all, and Im very coward in this kind of things. And not only that, I walked trough her to reach the light switch! It was like going trough mist, i turned the light on and she disapeared. I couldn't sleep that night, not for fear exactly I was trying to figure out what happened.

Thats weird as hell. My house was haunted when I lived in NY. I know what its like to walk into a room and see a ghost there. *shiver* Maybe you should look up the history of the land your house was built on or even the history of your house. I couldnt find shit about my house or anything. I still dont know what was up with that ghost in my room.

Well this is not a scary thing, but It was kind of weird. Last year I had a dream where one of my class mates broke his arm. The next day I told him my dream and that same afternoon he broke his arm. I had lots of dreams like this, but never told the people about them and nothing happened. The last dream I had like this, was about my math teacher in a wheel chair, looking really old. We didn't have class with her because she was ill for half a month. I've decided not no tell people arround me anymore about this dreams.

Okay, this might not be to scary but it scared the hell out of me.In the old neighboerhood I've lived in,there was a old pot/crake house and me and 3 friends deicided to check it out.Just looking around the one guy and I were upstairs looking around while the other 2 are outside where we could see them.We were getting really bored and deicieded to leave and while we turned around,we both saw one of the door just slam shut.We both screamed and ran out of the house and we knew it wasn't our friends fooling around because we met them outside. The four of us went back inside to see who or what was fucking around with us and the strange thing was that it wasn't windy at all.All four of us seached that house top from bottom and didn't find anything until we went back upstairs and the same door that slamed shut was open.Well,my friend and I just ran and left our 2 friends up there, then a second later,we heard the door shut again and then screaming. They said they started to walk towards the door and it slamed closed again. We ran down the street,I turned around to look back at the house and I could see that room where the door kept closing and I swear I saw what looked like a person stairing at me but one of my friends saw him/her/it too.We were all only 11 years old when this happened and we couldn't even walked near the street until they tore down the house two weeks later. And that door slaming and seeing what looked like a person scared the hell out of me so bad I couldn't sleep until they tore the house down.None of us were bothered by anyone which is what I and my friend thought would happen after seeing that person looking at us.I think it was a pothead just scwering around with us or it could have been worse.Since then,I've never gone into an abandoned house alone, only with about 6-9 people with me.

Well, recently I lost a close step-father. A few weeks ago we spent memorial day together and the next day I found out he died. But on monday night...I had to write a poem for extra-credit. I wrote the whole poem about death. I dont know why but I turned it in. And later that day...I found out. I didnt realize the poem I had written until a few days later. And...I know it may not sound scary to anyone else, but it was very wierd when I remembered it.

Actually, I just had something scary happen to me today. My black cat died about 2 years ago and we buried her in the backyard below the porch. We planted these really nice flowers where we buried her as a memorial type thing. Well, today I was sitting on the porch smoking and I was thinking about how my cat used to walk around the porch and chill out in the sun. I got up and looked over the edge of the porch to look at her flowers and there was a black cat underneath it. I stared at the cat for a long time and it looked exactly like my cat. I called out to her and she dissapeared. It had me shaken up all day. I dont know what that means.

2 days ago I was taking a walk behind my house,up my hill, and I was in the woods when I saw a box. Bieng as stupid as I am,I picked it up,brought it home and opened it up. Looks like someone was cleaning out their attic, cuz what I saw were about 4 dolls. One big,the other three small. The little ones didnt bother me much, but the big one was fucking scary! Its head was cracked,it was missing an eye,it had little tufts of hair and dirty clothing. I put the box outside in the back, and when it was night,I was trying to get to sleep, the only things on my mind were those damn dolls. Outside my room there is a big rock. My imagination was working up,and I swear I saw the shape of a little gnome/doll run by. I was freaked,so I watched a movie. Of course, watching a horror movie didnt help much, especially when that movie is Dolls. About halfway through the movie,I heard faint singing, like a flute playing or something, then I saw a shadow move across the ground. The next morning, the box in the backyard was gone. That was probably the scariest thing that happened to me.

I was watching The Ring with some of my friends and cool you know, were digging it when suddenly when sammara first appears in those flashbacks....THE TV TURNED OFF BY ITSELF!
The TV has no remote control so we were all preatty spooked...all the girls started screaming, and I started saying ok, stop fooling around...but no one was fooling around, the tv really did turn itself off...
Then we just ignored it, right? Maybe the tv was fucked up, whatever, thing is...I start to look towards the kitchen, and I see this flickering light...I say ok its only the scent candle that is lit dont worry about it...only its more intense then a candle is supposed to be. So I tell my friend "hey look the kitchens on fire" and she goes over there...and the scent candle was making this huuuuge flame like really big, it looked like the kitchen was burning up, and it wouldnt go off even if we threw water on it, so we just covered it up with a cooking pan, and it went off...ok after this we were spooked but we finished seeing the movie...cause you know we were liking it a lot (my friends hadnt seen it yet)
One of my friends fell asleep and didnt finish seeing it, so when she woke up in the morning she put the last half of the movie on again, cause she had missed it. Guess what happened?
There was another scent candle on in the bathroom...and....the candle wax was all over the floor and it seemed like the candle had exploded, not only that but the handle to the toilet was broken off.
My friends all said it was because we were watching that "evil" movie and were all spooked..I gotta admit it made me think a little bit..they were like too many things, happening all while we were watching the movie. Whatcha guys think?

this story aint mine unfortunatly,(i dont get scared) the story belongs to my sister. she told me of her one and only encounter with a ouiji board. my sister went to a catholic high school and this happened at a camp she went to. a group of em decided to hold a seance' with the witchboard n one gurl claimed to kno wot to do. she sed they needed a glass so one of the girls went to get one. now bear in mind that any old glass would have been sufficient. but when she came back she had with her a chalice. now here's the freaky part: no1 knew that the teachers had brought one with them, no1 knew where she got it from and when they tried to take it back, they saw that the box was locked. the only person who had the key was a teacher. posessed girl...freaky shit, my sis claimed. wish id been there to enjoy the fun....

Reaper Girl : ,(i dont get scared)
Everyone gets scared at least once in their lives.
Ok check this out. My aunt lives in the country and when I say country I mean boonies! They have well water and the closest neighbor is 2 miles away. Her house is surrounded by trees and if your standing on her back portch at night it's jes' eerie. Especially if you don't have the porch ligh on.
Anyway, my aunt and I were watching a movie in the dark. Nothing scarey. Well my cousins were in bed and my uncle was still at work. So my aunt and I are watching this movie and it finally ends. So we walk out front and let the dogs go outside and do their business, turn around and come back inside. As we are walking to the back of the house we hear this scratching on the windows. We both just looked at each other for a minute and started to very quitly tip toe to the back door. Now the lights were off and the ony thing on was that blue glow of the TV.
The scratching was very persistant and we hear the doorknob turning...then a click. At this point we both about shit our pants when in walks my uncle. We never even heard his car pull up. We scared the shit out of ourselves for no apparent reason. Funny stuff.

It isn't really a terrifying thing but...
A couple years ago I had like 7 kids spend the night. And we were watching Scary Movie. And the part where they were spoofing IKWYDLS everything went out in the house except the DVD player. Then we turned the TV back on. And it turned off, and we could feel something could brush against us. :-o

I've posted a few scary experiences on other threads with similar topics. They've mostly turned out to be harmless, like the one that happened to me just last night. My family and I were sitting in the kitchen chatting and drinking when our Golden Retriever sat up, alert. My mum mentioned that maybe somebody was out the front. So I took the dog with me to check it out. I opened the door and the dog immediately raced out. Sure enough, there was a person hiding amongst the trees in the driveway beside the car. The person stepped out and it was an old lady (!) who asked if this was 138 (we're 128). I said no and she let herself out. The thing is - why did she come in through the driveway gate, which is a lot harder to open than the main gate? And why was she lurking in the driveway when the front door is plainly visible from the driveway gate? Although I immediately relaxed when I found out our intruder was a spaced out old women, I still asked myself these questions. But those few moments when all I knew was that somebody was indeed lurking outside the house, I was very frightened. It's now made me think twice before just opening the door (it's not always a false alarm).
