Ever met a horror star?

Ever take a photo?

Ever put the photo on the net?

No?

Oh. Sorry.

You what? When? That can't be true. Really? Well I'll be...

Anyway, this is the thread (if it is accepted by you schmoes) that allows you to show the JoBlo world your celebrity-mingling achievements.

Personally, I have met Billy Connolly (Scottish comedian, if you don't know who he is in America you will soon when his Tom Cruise martial arts film thing comes out) and Robert Duvall (no introduction needed there).

But the only person horror-wise I have met as yet is the man you see in the attachment.

Feel free to post your own (Cushing, I know for a fact you have a better photo than this one :)).

The first celeb I ever met was Jimmy "J.J." Walker in 1996. People know him best from Good Times, but horror fans may know him as one of the Zoanoids from The Guyver.

The second time I met celebs was at G-Fest '96 when I met the most famous actors to play Godzilla: Harou Nakijima (Classic series) and Ken Satsuma (80's and 90's series).

The third celeb encounter I had was when I met Bruce "Da Man" Campbell at a book signing in Evanston in 2001. I went to another book signing the very next day to get a book signed for my cousin. I met him for a third time last summer at Flashback Weekend.

I also met Robert Z'Dar of Maniac Cop fame at the Flashback Weekend.

Hopefully this weekend I'll be meeting Robert Englund, Ken Foree, and Brad Dourif at the second annual Flashback Weekend.

The captain in Deep Impact? The doctor in Phenomenon? The main character in The Apostle? Otto in Gone In 60 Seconds? The doctor in The 6th Day? The police officer in Falling Down?

Duvall is God.
Englund is the devil.

It's fun to meet them both, but I'd rather meet the devil. :D

I met Elvira, The Mistress of the Dark aka Cassandra Petersen, at The Dallas Autorama in 1991. Correspond with Tom Savini from time to time via e-mail soliciting advice, and I met Pauly Shore in West Hollywood last year in front of the Comedy Store on Sunset. :D

rtatick,
When you see Tom at the Mall, do you mean Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh? He lives right in Bloomfield.

I met CLIVE BARKER on my birthday a few years ago... he drew a picture in my hardback copy of "In the Flesh".

He's probably the only person I've met that was interesting... except maybe Mike Ness (Social Distortion)

I've gone to the last two Chiller Theatre conventions in New Jersey and wrote up reports for the on my website. Oh, and don't mind the fact that I'm wearing the same shirt in both reports (6 months apart from each other)

I think by far the coolest person I've met had to be either Ken Foree or Gunnar Hansen. Ken was the man, very cool, and I chatted with Gunnar about the TCM remake...needless to say he wasn't very happy!!!

As I stated in the Flashback Weekend thread, I met Ken Foree and Brad Dourif last weekend. Ken was one of the nicest celebs I met. We talked for a while about general stuff. When I asked him about the DAWN remake, Ken said he gives the crew his best wishes. I got a pic taken with him.

Brad Dourif was funny! His appearance makes you think he's the not-so-friendly type, but was nice. When my dad took a picture of him, he picked up his camera and took a pic of my dad. For some reason, he was taking pics of the people who were taking his pic.

The pics I got taken with Ken and Brad were not on a digital camera so I can't upload them. Maybe I'll get access to a scanner soon...

I wanted to meet Kevin McArthy (sp?), but I was low on cash and spent the last bit on Dourif.

I met and talked with Danny Trejo at an NBA game. (Greeeat guy!)

I met Tony Hawk when he came down to promote this new skate park they built.

That's about it. Oregon is pretty damn boring.

I never met anybody famous, but I have had 2 brushes with celebrities. Rowdy Roddy Piper not only answered my e-mail, but he also posted it on his site.

And Alice Cooper answered an e-mail once, he even scanned an autographed picture and sent it to me as an attachment. I'd still have it, but I accidentally deleted it when I was cleaning out my e-mail one day.

I've gotten to hangout with Andras Jones aka Rick from NOES 4
twice at his shows here in Massachusetts!

Donnie Darko

Oddly enough, I haven't seen his name here.

Went to a talk Bruce Campbell was giving, got to sit down with him afterwards, autographed my "Book of the Dead" DVD and his autobiography, and got a few pictures with him. He was a real cool guy.

I met the three male stars in Dawn of the Dead along with Tom Savini. I also spent quite a bit of time discussing movies with Tom Sullivan (of Evil Dead fame).

The most famous non-horror celebrity I ever hung out with was Michael Jordan. We drank from the same six-pack. Yeah, yeah, yeah.... I know that isn't real drinking... but still.

Man, you guys are the luckiest sod's I have ever known :D sadly I haven't met the stars but hopefully one day my time will come. What I wouldn't do to get a pic with Robert Englund or even Bruce Campbell for that matter.

sigh :(

I have met CHRISTOPHER LEE. There is a true gentleman! He was very nice and talked gladly about his years in Hammer films...

I met him here in Finland. There was this horror film festival called: NightVisions. They played about 8 Hammer flicks.

Well, I haven't met anyone mainstream but I've met some cool actors and directors in the independent movie scene.

Stephanie Beaton and I used to be very good friends.

Jeff Thomas, the kick ass dude who directed and starred in 13 Seconds.

Britney Spears at Disney World although I'm not very proud of this, lol. I don't care how good looking she is, she's the definition of marketing to a mass audience.

I've met a couple of producers (I guess that doesn't really count).

Well, that's about it, I've met a few musicians here and there but no one involved with horror. My connections are weak besides the folks I mentioned above (besides Britney Spears).
