MY THOUGHTS
SPOILERS
I saw this movie in the theater when it first came out, and I was pleasently surprised. The script isn't the best, but the performances by Shane West and Mandy Moore is what makes this a "good" movie.
A Walk to Remember is based on the ever popular book by Nicholas Sparks. But the book and the movie could not be anymore different. In the movie, Landon (Shane West) is suppost to be in the school play because of an awful prank him and his buds made. But in the book it is something completly different. Really, the only thing that is the same in the book and the movie, is the ending.
The ending is really what makes this movie a tear jerker. When Jamie (Mandy Moore) told Landon that she had cancer, everyone in the theater was in tears. And it was so ultra sweet when Mandy Moore told Landon her wish list (it is one of the clips from above). And then when Landon does everything on it, it was a really special part of the movie.
I really don't know why there is so much hate twords this movie. It was sweet and sometimes very sad. I really recommend it to anyone and everyone.
My Final Rating: 7/10

Hey I liked this movie. I was very enterteined and charmed by the lovely Mandy Moore. Who I hated until this movie. The movie was very cute and romantc. It was very human and sentimental. Mandy Moore gave an amazing performance.

I'm almost ashamed to say it, but I shouldn't. :D
Me, Mr. Blood Guts Death and Destruction while Fucking Plot in the Ass with a Tire Iron, almost cried during this.
Very, very good, and sadly enough, it reminds me of a friend of mine, unfortunately going through very hard times, but somehow she pulls through. Good stuff.

This is one of my favorite. I cried a lot during this movie. The book is just as good too. Everyone that tell about this movie said they liked it too. The plot, the story and the ending were great. I don't want to say too much, but I really enjoyed this movie and would recommend it to anyone (even though it's a chick flick.) 8/10

I thought that I would hate this movie and bash it a lot. It surprised the hell out of me. It wasn't that bad.

A shockinly and surprisingly good tearjerker and Mandy Moore is actually very good in this. She has good chemistry with Shane West, who is also very good in this movie. And I must confess, this movie even managed to get a couple of tears from my eyes. Not as good as Message in a Bottle, though.

Terrific romance movie :) I really liked Mandy Moore in this, who did an awesome job from being in all her fall-in-love-with-a-boy-and-learn-a-lesson type movies.

I loved this movie and recommend it to all - didn't really like Mandy and didn't think I would like it too much but I did and everyone I know who saw it said the same thing

I really enjoyed the film when I saw it at the movies. As soon as it came out on dvd, I bought it.
Here is my review which I posted on my movie group when I saw it for the first time...
At the beginning you see Shane West's character Landon and all his 'cool' friends daring a boy to jump into a water facility where he is badly injured, and where they are chased by the police. Of cause Landon gets caught and is punished. One of the things he has to do is be in the school play. This is where he meets Jamie, who is the daughter of the local minister where Landon goes to church. Jamie is not a well-liked person who is always made fun off - either about what she wears or how nice she is to everyony - which never gets old.
As Landon sees more and more of Jamie, he starts to understand her - that she doesn't care about what others think of her, she says what she is thinking and she is happy just the way she is. When Landon spends more time with her, his friends start to ignore him and stop talking to him. After a while, Landon tells Jamie that he loves her and how he feels towards her. At the beginning she told him not to love her.
But of cause the feeling is mutual, and they start going out, which starts the tongues wagging. When Landon finds out that Jamie is sick, he starts doing things which are on her to-do list. One of which is to be married in the church which her mum and dad were married in. Then not long after they were married, she passes away.
The story reminded me a little bit of Here on Earth with Leelee Sobieski, Chris Klein and Josh Hartnett, where she was sick also, but there was a love triangle. The story was straight forward, but it did tough at the heart strings a little. I especially liked how Jamie would always have the last word when they were having a conversation, which would always leave Landon thinking about what she just said. I thought that that was very good. I can't wait to read the book. Also the music was really good. I loved the song Jamie sang in the movie, Only Hope. All the music was well but into the movie, it tied into what was happening in the particular scenes.
I would give the movie: 3 1/2 stars

After seeing the movie, I have read the book, bought the soundtrack and then bought the movie on dvd. But still haven't been able to get a hold of the movie poster. The soundtrack is really good. There are about 3-4 songs by Switchfoot, and a couple by Mandy Moore, of cause. Overall a good soundtrack to listen to.

I am not usually one for Sad Romantic movies, but I was home sick from work one day and happened to catch it on HBO, result, had boyfriend run out and buy it on DVD when he got home. Mandy Moore was so cute in the movie and it gave me a new perspective on Pop stars acting (ever seen crossroads ya know what I mean now) I don't know if the result of my crying was from the movie or the fact that my stomach was killing me, butt all in all it was a great movie, 7/10
