What would you sell as merchandise for a horror movie?

Make up your own products related in a particular horror movie and share your ideas. I got a small idea after watching "The Ring". Wouldn't it be sweet if they would sell copies of THE video? Yes, the one featured in the movie. The prize could be about 2 to 3 dollars.

I think they came out with these about the same time Halloween 3 came out but If they rerelease Halloween 3 I would sell Silver Shamrock masks, have the commercials and everything. The Ring video would be cool as hell to have in a horror collection. With my luck though I'd get a phone call after I watched it.:cool:

Just a tidbit but I recently found out during hellraiser 2 in theatres some select places gave out free vomit bags or something of the like, I saw an image in the hellbound web site and it looks great. A good idea they had there.

I suppose you could think of a lot for a list such as this. Unfortunitely the only things Ive thought of (freddygs glove replicas, the popsickle stick house from 3) have already been done. Perhaps to celebrate friday the thirteenth they could sell bloody hockey masks with rubber knives stuck through the eye.
For poltergiest a small tv with carolines face screaming to get out.

Here's a cute idea (Well, perhaps only to me...) They could have one of those large gel candles made where it resembles a fish tank in the shape of a bowl. The blue gel is water, and there is a rubber brown boat at the top with a person in it, and a bite taken out of it. You could have a rubber shark going to the top to celebrate Jaws.

For evil dead the necromonicon books, although this has been done through the dvd, but as smaller books - perhaps an evil dead necrominicon book keychain? : ) I for one would like to have something like that. It would be miniature, of course, with the leather feel, and some pages to skim through, where the print would be almost impossible to read.

For Critters they could have released little stuffed animal critter balls with sharp rubber teeth and spikey hair at the top.

Come to think of it horror keychain collectables would be great!!!

A mini ouija board with a stuck on pentacle (sp)
A mini Jason mask
A mini Freddy glove
A mini Good Guys blue jeans pocket
A mini hellbox from the movie hellraiser
A mini chainsaw with the words: The saw is family
A mini vampire teeth, although that could be corny
Maybe instead of a chain, have a rope and a hung man hanging from it
An upside down red balloon, where a picture of Pennywise can be seen on the inside
The flying balls from Phantasm
A mini bag made out of plastic that would clamp together by the white strings at the tip of the keychain, with a picture of michael myers on it, saying Halloween across the top.

Yeah, that keychain idea is great! And it would be great to own thar Ring video.

But think about this: I think that it would be more than great if there would be a miniature model of that shopping mall from Dawn of the Dead! And there would be Peter, Flyboy, etc. and ofcourse the zombies as miniature. You could play with them, create your own adventure...

That would be cool as hell!

It would also be kinda cool if they made Hellraiser boxes that worked. I know they make them but they are expensive as hell.

I would make a Leprechaun shoe shining kit, a book of spells from random horror movies like the one that Charles used to get into the Good Guy Doll in Childs Play and the one used to open the hole to hell in The Gate, and I would market a CD of horror movie screams. It would include classics like Janet Leigh up to the present screams like Naomi Watts. That would be cool

That sounds like a good idea as well. I could really get into this merchandise thing. You could also make little studio house/scene sets to play around with concerning other movies. Excellent idea MasterBrain...

Sheri, yes all that would be cool. I don't know about buying the cd of horror screams, but I would be interested in hearing it once or twice. The leprechaun shoe shining kit is pretty original, a cute idea. My favorite would be the book of spells, nice work.

This would probably scare the hell out of some people, but what if you had to include your phone number to get a copy of "The Ring" VHS, and after you recieve it you get a call.

Dreamworks actually did release "the video" to promote The Ring before its initial release, I bought a copy, its pretty authentic (as authentic as a video tape can get, I guess...). Ebay has a few, just make sure it says its a Dreamworks copy.

They need to come out with hollow televisions that you can crawl through...that would be great.

actually, when my cousin's birthday rolled around a few months ago, my mother and i chipped in and bought her one of those cats...i picked the one we got her because it did look like church. it was a hit at the party, because all the adults and older kids who had seen the movie also said it was exactly like church, and we named it such. well, it doesn't get all pissy when you pet it's back, but it does that when you pull it's tail, so guess what we spent the whole afternoon dong?

Damn, you took part of my idea! For Bad Taste, I think that having candy that was made from the 'gruel', that also had a cherry filling that made it look like, no, that's getting cheesy. Seriously though, I think for Alien, you could get a little can of Xenomorph mucus or something.

About the Ring video

They were handing these out at a concert I was at, I doubt the copies were from Dreamworks but I could be wrong. I didn't get one but now I wish I had because they are sure to be a collectors item one day. Anyway, people that got one and watched it thought it was an actual preview of the movie and thought it would be the scariest movie of all time. I think it would be great to see a movie completely like the video. That was off subject but the point is I could have gotten one but I'm an idiot.
