Wouldn't it be crazy if all of us made like a pot for money or something and then produced our own horror movie? A horror movie made by horror fanatics.

Yes, that would be VERY crazy. Only the idea of a horrormovie made by over a hundred horror fanatics is so crazy, that I'd avoid the movie at all costs.
Fuck, that's crazy:D

With some of the ideas that I'm sure we would come up with it would be banned in a number of countries. A good idea though.:D

Sounds like it would be a classic right from the start:D

If we ever ended up making movies they would be cheapie, independent, direct to video films that would never get noticed. But still it would be cool.

With everyones knowledge of horror movies, would could make something so great that people could only really see it once because it would be the scariest damn horror movie known to man. Noone would be able to top our movie and that would end horror as we know it. Noone could watch another scary movie because they wouldnt compare. I dont want to be responsible for the end of the greatest movie genre.

It quickly becomes a too many cooks scenario. Everyone has their ideas, regardless of whether they're good, and the director ends up getting barraged by a bunch of people who have zero clue what they're talking about. They put money in, they want say in what happens. It never works nicely.

Alright, then what would happen if, say, five of the more well-known schmoes (oldest, most posts, etc) went in for an imaginary movie? Each contributing what scared them the most, and each of them having their own personal favorites in the horror genre. It would be interesting to say the least.

Or we could have a submit a screenplay contest and then the schmoes could produce the one that got the most votes.

Well we know what scares a lot of the schmoes from the what really scares you posts. Clown, spiders, Ticks, drowning, etc. They could add a little of all that in there. It sounds like a good idea to me : )

Horror is IMO the hardest genre to write/film. Horror turns camp in a fuckin' heartbeat. Just cause you know what scares you doesn't mean you know what's scary.

I would say that we definately have a vast resource of horror knowledge in here, but it would end up being the too many cooks scenario. Best thing would be to get the schmoes that actually have the resources (ie, writing, acting, directing ability) and leave it to them. Might get several groups working on movies then. Oh hell, now i got my hopes up. Dammit!

I think the submitting scripts idea is a great idea. But I think it should be like that for writer and director. Anyone who wants to direct submits short films and we all vote on which director would be best to tackle the project and same with the screenwriter... This actually sounds like a great idea.

That's not what I meant. NO MOVIE will scare everyone. Everyone has their own fears. But what can work is the people making the film incorporating their fears into a movie. Nevermind, this is hard to explain

If like 500 schmoes put in like a hundred dollars each, that's like 50,000 dollars which is kind of enough to make a horror movie... Maybe not.. But still if people really did bust there asses to get this to work.. It would and it would be pretty kickass.

If there is anyone in the Southwest, USA who would want to do something, say in a few years when I turn 18 or something, we could start on a script or something.
