View Full Version : Why are you sitting directly in front of me? I'm SHORTER than you!

I'm 5'4" tall and it really makes me mad when someone who is WAY taller than me sits in the seat directly in front of me where there are PLENTY of other places to sit to the left or right. Or even rows further down. You can even sit behind me and still see the screen perfectly fine.

Unfortunately, BB, it's entirely within their right to sit where they want to. The only solution I can find is to find the seat most beneficial to you.

You could sit in the front, or better yet, bring a couple o' books to sit on:D

That's true, however, if the theater isn't crowded, it's kinda rude to plop your butt down in front of somebody and block their view. This is VERY rude if the seats directly to the right and left are empty. I mean, come on, would it kill that person to sit in seat 6 in. to the right or left of where they sat? I'm 6 ft. tall, so I try to find a seat that won't block those who don't have the hight to see over me. It's just common courtesy.

It would be common courtesy, which I'm a huge proponent of. But in this case, maybe the tall person thinks those are the best seats for them. Would it kill the shorter person to move one or two seats left or right? It's the same thing.

Maybe theaters could seat the shorter people in front, and the taller people further back.

True, it's all up to which person wants to be the nice one. The theaters could also give a bit more distance between one row and the next.

you know,my girlfriend is 5'3" and we have had all sorts of people sit in front of us, including one guy who must have been about 6'5" or so and she could still see perfectly well...and believe me, she would have complained.

i guess we just design cinema seating better in the UK ;)

Thats why I enjoy the stadium seating.
You never have to worry about big headed people blocking your view.

5'4?!?! Core blimey! (damned english rubbing off on me) "I've had bigger chunks of corn in my crap!" Bad analagy (sp?) I know, and quite disgusting yet to boot, but that is like majorly small to me, ahem 6'5. Being tall has its perks, like never having to worry about said topic.

Im usually the asshole that sits in front of short people, it just makes me feel even taller than I already I am. Plus its nice to hear them piss and moan on websites.

Nobody? I cant understand a damn thing BCV says!!! (Doesnt mean I love her any less :D)

And your g/f can do whatever she feels like doing, cuz shes only 5'3, thats even smaller than BB. Im The Big Show damn it, no one can take me down!

(Thats a little joke there, everyone basically agrees I look like WWE's 7'2 500lb monster Paul "Big Show" Wright, even me)

You never know, maybe when she sees my massive strength and raw sexual magnitude she'll become my g/f!

Eh, a guy can dream can't he? Core blimey, :D

I too dont know what she is on, but I'd like to get some myself so I could be on it as well.

As for your g/f, hell, I'd like to get to know anyone right now.

I guess until that happens I'll just have to settle for sitting in front of short people at the show :D

Same here.

I'm a shortarse (5'3 and a pinch) but I can't say this has ever proved a problem at the pictures.

Now MUSIC CONCERTS are an entirely different story...

Fucking big-arse twat's with their humongous noggins, kinky hairdo's, masssssssiiiiiivvvveeee faces...and their bloody novelty-sized sombrero's and shit. You've got to be shitting me you lanky streak of piss...seriously, we're in a mammoth fucking ROOM...LOOK around fuckwit...find a peachy space, take your big 'fro and your empty fucking swell-head...and QUIT ruining the scenery le' dickhead.

Go to theatres with stadium seating.. Always. I've enjoyed going to the movies considerably more since theatres started switching over to this. I'm not short either (5'11") but even someones hair in the corner of the screen irritates me a bit.

this bothers me to no end.

gr...have some courtesy people. i mean, if its a crowded theatre, then hey, sit where you can, but if there are only 3 people in the theatre, don't sit directly infront of anyone. its rude. and then if you HAVE to sit infront of someone, don't sit as tall as you can. gr

stadium seating needs to be in every theatre. its a savior!

Entirely true..

That is why I try to get to the theater early to get my good seat!

I think the point she's trying to make was that AFTER she's sat down someone else comes along and blocks her view. In other words, she was the first one there, so if you want to go by the first come, first served rule, the other person is in the wrong.

Well, not really. They might be slightly inconsiderate, but they're not in the wrong. If there are empty seats, they'r eperfectly entitled to pick the seat they think is best for them.

I was talking about the post you and Voodoodoll did earlier.:) Anyway, it all comes down to how polite the people are. I don't have a problem moving if there are empty seats to my right or left, but that's just me. I still think theaters seating should have more space between rows, it would make those in front not seem so tall.

5'4? 5'3? HA! Im 4'11&1/2 (Dear God Why Did you not give me the other 1/2?) and let me just tell you that I know how you feel even thought you do have a few inches advantage over myself! That Is why I want to kiss the man who put stadium seats in most of the theatres around me. You know what else I fucking hate? I hate it when you put your big fucking feet on the back of my chair and you have some sort of foot fidget thing going on and it feels like an earthquake!
I also hate it when people use cellphones in loud places such as the bowling alley, a rock concert or in front of an ugly dude drilling the road. Morons!:p

I'm about 5'9 or 10, and I usually sit (at the most) two rows infront of anybody.

I'm usually that tall guy with the fro. BCV just because we're tall doesn't mean we don't want to be up front inches away from the act. There is a thrill to that. it's been more than once when a short person behind me politely asked me to movie my noggin. I always do my best to move in a position for them to see. But fact of the matter is Tall People like being close too :) So leave us le' dickheads alone! :D

Some obese 6-foot tall woman sat right in front of me when I saw The Two Towers on opening day. Just after I moved to another seat, some other 6 foot chick sat right in front of me too, and then I had sit in yet another seat.

Bitches. I mean, I'm a short person (4'11), so could you find some fucking courtesy and sit somewhere else?! Sure, the theater was fairly packed, but there still plenty of good seats left.
