Watching this movie the other night, and it struck me how excellent the soundtrack is. Especially one tune which is used maybe five times in the movie. It's the one which is used to conclude the movie, and it has haunting feel, fully relecting the desperation and pain these central characters are decesending into.

Anybody know where I could find this, and also does anybody know the composer/artist of this mangnificent score.

Much appreciated

The composer is Clint Mansell, you could probably find the soundtrack online or on Kazaa.

I picked up the score from HMV, for about 11.99, I think. If you do download from Kazaa, then the track you're looking for is probably Lux Aeterna. You might also be interested in the trailer music for The Two Towers, which is a remixed version of the main theme - should be available on Kazaa too

I prefer the Requiem to the TTT version. The latter is just TOO powerfull it seems.

For a cool mix on the theme, listen to the Remix Score Album. If you can get past the idea of listening to the score with the occasional techno beat, then you'll love the album. There is some truly powerful tracks on it

And of course the Pi soundtrack is also ace, if completely different.

I love the soundtrack to this movie (Actually, I like the soundtrack better than the movie). But did any one else feel like the music didn't fit the movie in certain points. Some times the soundtrack seemed TOO powerful. It just didn't fit the story. The only time that Lux Aeterna works in this movie is at the very end, where it FINALLY seems appropriate, because everyone in so far into despair. The soundtrack should have been toned down a bit, in my opinion.
CHEERS!

I thought it fit perfectly. I'm not big on music though. But, I did think Dog Soldiers' score ripped off a few notes from the Rock and was a tad over the top at times. But thats all my musical crituiqing for now.

Many thanks guys. Didn't know the LOTR soundtrack used the a mixed version of the Requiem music. You learn something new everyday.
