View Full Version : Two movies I want to see get made

For years I've wanted to see two epic/animated films. Both of which go with eachother, the first one is.....
The Old Testament - The whole Old Testament animated, I wouldn't want Disney to make it because they wouldn't make it seriously and I wouldn't want Pixar because the idea of a 3D animated Noah just sounds stupid.
and then,
The New Testament - The life of Jesus, animated. I think that would be the better of the two.
Would any of you like to see an animated/epic film based on the bible?
I'd never attempt making this movie myself because that's a lot of responsibility.

I wouldn't mind seeing that stuff....
Animated or not, I think it would be better if they did a movie that takes place in the year 2003 but follows the basic outline of the bible.....that way, it might more accepted by the general public...

Old Testament movie would be very looooooooong.
The New Testament is mainly a talky drama. Why it should be made as an animated film? It's not a particularly visual story.
Have you seen the Prince Of Egypt? What did you like of it?

It'd work for The New Testament to be played out in modern day times, but not The Old Testament (it'd be hard as hell). I've always wanted to see Jesus living in New York or some urban place. And I think a good way to mimick the crucifixion would be with lethal injection. The lethal injection table has the person's arms stretched out as if he was on a cross, that would kick ass, but I think it would need to be in a whole other movie.
I have no idea why I want to see this animated, but I think it would make it better.

Great idea. "I'd buy that for a dollar"

The New Testament
What's the point? We all know how it ends. I like a 'twist' in my films.
:D
By the way....
SPOILERS FOR THE NEW TESTAMENT

Dude! Next time use a bigger Spoiler warning. You totally ruined the story for me! :D
On topic:
I really dont see this sort of project ever getting proper funding. The only way they could get enough money to do the films right, would be if the church paid for a huge sum of it. And that wont happen unless of the Pope and his Cardinals cut back on their clothes and jewelry shopping!

I always thought that any story in the bible would make a great film if done properly. I'd love to see like Fincher or someone make a film from the book of Revelations.

Actually, I've read that some scholary research that studies the original language of the bible (not English translations) and it WASN'T Judas! Serious. Now before you say "heretic," let me explain. There is one word that scholars claim was misinterpreted. And it has something to do with Judas being paid to deliver Jesus. Judas was the guy that brought the guards to Jesus, or vice versa, but Jesus knew, and the words deliver and betray got confused. And the fact that the guards paid Judas the silver wasn't a payment for betrayal, it was payment for the movement of the prisoner (Jesus). Jesus chose judas because he was his most trusted friend, so when it came time to be delivered to the guards (like he knew he had to be to fulfill the prophecy), he chose Judas, his best friend, to deliver him. However, the payment is misinterpreted today, and Judas has really, REALLY gotten a bad rap. I know this sounds crappy, but the research explained it really well.
Spoilers:
On a side note, I really liked the new spin on the Dracula story in Dracula 2000 where he turned out to be Judas.

i think they already have made a cartoon version of the old testament but as for me i would like to see Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and Survivor by chuck Palahniuk be made. Both great books and both would be great movies.

Movies I REALLY want to see get made, but only if done right. Actually, I wish I could make these.
It would have to be about six films to get the story right, but it would be the story of Preacher, by Garth Ennis. Film them consecutively, like Peter Jackson did with LOTR. That would be the only way to go. I doubt that a studio would put that much faith in a Rated R, controversial franchise, but it would definitely be worth it. At least film three together, and if they pay off, film the last three. But I hear they're making the first movie. I really am holding my breath, but it looks to be headed straight to Hell with Talalay directing (the abyssmal "Tank Girl") and James Marsden (Cyclops, and totally not right for the part from what I've seen) in the lead as Jesse Custer. Here's hoping!!
What movies do you schmoes want to see get made?

I'd like to see a biopic based upon the life of Wendy O Williams. To me, she is just a fascinating woman and met a tragic end when she couldn't cope with "being normal" and committed suicide. sadly, if it were made, some schmuck would probably cast Pink or Gwen Stefani in the role of W.O.W.
