Arnold Schwarzenegger: The Modern Action Star:
Collateral Damage -
Arnold's most recent film. He plays Gordy Brewer, a fireman who goes into to Columbia to kill "The Wolf", a volatile terrorist who killed his wife and son. While not as great as some of Arnie's other flicks, this movie does have tons of action, including an exciting showdown in a D.C. building. I LIKED this movie. 7/10.
The Sixth Day -
I LOVED THIS MOVIE! It has an intense story, great acting, and one of the coolest sequences ever in an Arnie film (the futurisitc helicopter race.) This one is also very underrated. Arnold chose a great script here. Pity it did not become a huge hit. 9/10.
End Of Days -
One of Arnold's few, if only, horror films. He plays a depressed and drunken cop who must stop the Devil from having intercourse with a beautiful and kind woman. Not exactly an amazing movie, but I was creeped out and it was nice to see Arnold expand a bit. 7/10.
Batman & Robin -
I really don't hate this film as much as most do. It is cheesy, but very entertaining. It does not retain ANY of the comic's vision, though, which p-ed me off a bit. 6/10.
Jingle All The Way -
A truly underrated holiday classic. A social satire about Christmas that made me laugh and get in the Christmas mood. Not exactly the best movie ever made, but a great choice for holiday viewing. 8/10.
Eraser -
I LOVE THIS ONE! An excellent thriller/action film. Tons of action, suspense, and mystery. Arnold seemed to really have fun with this one. Definitely worth a blind DVD buy if you haven't seen it. 9/10.
Junior - 3/10. 'Nuff said on this one.
True Lies -
A classic action/comedy. Arnold and James Cameron are kind of spoofing the spy genre here with a family twist on things, but it still has tons of action if that is what you crave. A classic. 10/10.
Last Action Hero -
This one is really underrated. It has a clever concept, good acting, a nice villian, tons of movie references, and an appearance from Ian McKellen as THE GRIM REAPER. What more do you want?! 8/10.
T2: Judgement Day -
Everything is perfect. Not as good as the original, but still one of the best films ever made. 10/10.
Kindergarten Cop -
LOL! This one is truly fun. A perfect mix of comedy, drama, and action. Schwarzenegger shines in this. 8/10.
Total Recall -
A sci-fi classic. Offbeat, but supremely entertaining. This one gets in your face and knocks your lights out. 9/10.
Twins -
One of my favorite comedies! DeVito and The Oak are a perfect team. This movie just works amazingly. 9/10.
Red Heat -
A bad movie. It just lacks inspiration and charm. I wanted MUCH MORE. 4/10.
The Running Man -
A cool film. It is exciting as hell and Arnie gives a sterling performance. 7/10.
Predator -
A classic. This one has the charm of a B-movie, but works like an A-action flick. 9/10.
Raw Deal - 5/10
Commando - 7/10
Red Sonja - 4/10
The Terminator -
Arnold's best film. Thrilling, action-packed, and mysterious. 10/10.
Conan The Destroyer -
Fun, but does not live up to the first one. 6/10.
Conan The Barbarian -
An excellent action film. Sword fights abound and James Earl Jone is one nasty prick in this. 8/10.
Pumping Iron -
I love this one. I can watch it over and over. An interesting doc. 8/10.
Hercules In New York -
A cheesy fest for all. Nothing is serious in this one. All for the laughs, IMO. 5/10.
