Surprised I couldnt find a review for this breath of fresh air from last year. Far more than just a fluff romantic piece or coming of age story this film delivers in a genre I usually dont enjoy.

The true star is the script which is well written and attacks many cliched situations from an alternate angle. A complete original this film contains genuine belly laughs as well as heart felt emotion and memorable charecters. Best of all it's a film that has something to say and gets its message across with skill.

All the cast (even Elizabeth Berkley) deliver well thought out charecterizations and the director helms it all with a confident hand that is not afraid to follow thru on issues usually steered clear of by this type of film.

Definetly a must see for fans of the genre and for those who just appreciate a really well written piece of entertainment that keeps teh viewer constanly engaged.

I've seen it and enjoyed it. Very smart, witty and an interesting viewpoint on relationships and love. Campbell Scott was fucking awesome, he sooooo owned that role.

I watched three movies this weekend:

1) The Sting(I really enjoyed it Newman and Redford need to make another movie together before they croak)

2) Some Like It Hot (Funny/pretty good)

3) Roger Dodger...

#3 was so good I watched it twice.

What a surprising film!

The dialogue was first rate Campbell Scott just nailed his part and...(ahem) Jennifer Beals, who has to be pushing 40 but didn't look a day over 25, was aboslutely sexxxy without taking off a stitch of clothing...

The directing, the lensing, THE WRITING, the music...Everything just rocked. There are great performances throughout, and I can't wait to go out and buy the DVD (which has some great extras by the way)

The best compliment I can give this movie is that I can't stop thinking about it. Normally I'm done with a movie mentally before the credits roll.

9/10 (I don't give those out easy)

Fantastic!

See This Movie...

I saw it awhile ago, and I agree that Campbell Scott was awesome, but, alas, it just wasn't as funny as it could have been. Still, I liked it a lot and gave it 7/10.
