I was reading JoBlo's prom about the upcoming Mystic River with all of the big name actors that are scheduled to be in it and I was thinking- I hardly eveer like anything that has more than two big names in it. The movie tends to be written for the movie stars instead of the movie stars playing the roles as written. Small roles tend to be over blown and there are scenes in there that don't tend to make sense for the characters- you just know that someone is saying "That role is too small for Julia- give her another three scenes!"

Well, let's hope that someday soon they'll learn that modesty pays off a lot more than mere ego-tripping. The more the actor's ego gets put aside, the better the movie... :D
I'm with you on this.

I'm not a big fan of All-star movies. Having too many stars in it becomes distracting, and makes it impossible to seperate the actor/actress from the character. Like seeing Ocean's 11, I could never think of Julia Roberts's character as being anyone other than Julia Roberts

I loved having the allstar cast in Ocean 11. I thought it was pretty cool. But, in all seriousness, where was Ben Affleck if Matt Damon was there. We can only hope he was on the set.
To be fair, ANY role is too big for Julia Roberts.

Back in the 70's All-Star movies was thee thing that Hollywood was pumping out left & right. Its still goin on today but not as much. Big name stars doesnt guarantee a big hit. Movie goers now has wised up. Its the STORY that everybody looks for that brings people in, or if not the movie just looks like that other movie that came out 2 months ago or last year.

An All-Star cast is great, if you know how to use it. OCEAN'S ELEVEN was a blast in that aspect.
