HALLOWEEN 2

This film has been known to be the best sequel in the popular Halloween film series.I am not one to disagree. This film has tension and suspense galore.Rick Rosenthal copies Crapenter's style from the original and makes this a classy dread filed peice instead of the usual 80's chessy slasher flick.

The Plot:Picking up where the original let off,the town of adonfeild on Halloween in 1978 is stunned.A series of murders hs taken plce and the lone survivor,Laurie Strod is taken to Haddonfeild Memorial Clinic.Dr.Loomis is on the hunt for Micheal Audry Myers, a psychotic killer who escaped from a mental hospital the night before.Micheal finds Laurie and begins to kill the few staff memebers workin in nasty ways.He gets to Laurie in the big climax as Dr.Loomis attempts to come to the aid of Laurie.

The Video:I rented the Goodtimes video version.I must say that the picture(in LP mode) is better than I expected.Goodtimes was known to me from my childhood. They would put good cartoon films on crummy VHS copies but this is a very good exception.he colors do look a little saturated and kinda blurry but it i an all right video.

The Audio:Unlike the video presentation, the audi lacks something.ts not in HI-FI Stereo for one thing. It sounds like a movie my grandmother taped off of NBC in 1980.The music is very good.It is by John Carpenter and Alan Howarth. It is a very scary soundtrack

GORE:Most of the daths are extremely brutal. There is a razor in a kids tounge,Hot tub boiling,Syringe in eye ball and in temple, blod draining and more.

Nudity:Pamela Susan Shopp decides toget in the hot tub with Leo Rossi. Both are profiled in the nude.Pamela shows her breasts while entering and Leo shows his ss while getting ou.

Deleted Scenes:This film has an alternate cut with less gore and extended and deleted scenes. They mostly consist of nurses talking and a different arrangement of scenes. Some scenes are switched to another part in the movie. There is also a extended ending in this version where Jimmy is in the ambulance wth Laurie. This version aired on AMC last Halloween, so if AMC is airing Halloween 2 tepe it.

A reasonably good sequel to a horror masterpeace. 7/10.

I own the Goodtimes DVD. Crappy extras and video, but ok audio. At least it is in widescreen.

I also own the Goodtimes (well for 2 more days before its traded a way). This movie, while not that great, contains probably my favorite scene in horror history. They ram a kid that they think is Micheal into a truck. The kid bursts into flames and dies. Donald looks over at the kid in sarrow for about 2 seconds before going "its not him, lets go!" and they quickly run off like nothing happened lol.

You're right, the nightmare isn't over. Not until they pack in making these films. The first was bad enough. This is shit-on-a-stick.

I thought it was a pretty good sequal to a horror classic. 7/10

Although not the best sequel in the Halloween series (that honor belongs to Halloween 4), Halloween 2 was a great continuation. The mall setting was used to create a very creepy atmosphere, there are some genuinely scary moments, though not as many as in the original and the acting from Donald Pleasance and Jamie Lee Curtis is right on target. Add in some creative, though highly implausible deaths and you have a sequel that does not disappoint.

Final Score - 7.5/10

Not bad and definately one of the better slasher flicks though I personally liked H20 and Resurrection the most of all the Halloween movies. Yes, including the original which I thought was decent but overrated. I don't think Halloween is the classic it is made out to be. But most of the Halloween movies are ok. The only bad ones are Halloween III (Zero Stars) Halloween 5 (* 1/2) and I haven't seen the fourth one. The rest of the Halloween movies pretty good.

Still, The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise is better.

Although never matching the creepyness and soul of the first movie this sequel manged to have some good suspense and clever death scenes. I enjoyed it. 7/10

This was a very scary movie. The hospital setting was VERY creepy. I thought the film was directed with a brilliant fashion from Rick Rosenthal and the deaths were creative and gross-out. One of the best horror sequels, I think it was better than the first film, which is waaaay overrated.

8/10

I enjoyed the movie. Urbanlegend you're right the deserted hospital is really creepy, epecially when showing Michael walking around the halls via CCTV.

Not a bad film. Has a great atmosphere to it.

7/10

i finally got to see Halloween 2 and was ready to be disappointed since i really hate 4-8. i was pleasantly surprised with the film though. the acting is mostly good with the leads doing well, as do some of the other cast members, but there are a few that really drag down their scenes. i liked how it continued the story from the first film (although i would have preferred it if they left the Myers character alone after Halloween). the direction, while not up to the level of Carpenters was also good and managed to create some nice scenes. the film was also gorier than i expected although i was happy that it didnt go over the top.
overall it was a thoroughly entertaining sequel...if only they stopped the Myers story here

8/10

This is the 1st of the 956 crappy Halloween sequels, unworthy of the original. I honestly can not see why everyone likes this movie.
